SO, I called and left a message for an estimate. The next day recieved a call from Mark's wife to set an appointment. I explained I found them on Angie's list and I live in El Dorado Hills and wanted to know first if they service that area or not. She said WE DO. Next I explained that I have two very large pine trees that I need to have removed, asked how large of trees do they remove? She stated they can do very large trees. I set an appointment for today 8/26 between 9-10 am. This was at the beginning of the week. This morning I get a call from Mark at 7:30 am Identifying himself as and proceeds to ask if he can come early. I have no issue, that's fine. This is where it goes done hill fast! He asks if I have received any other estimates, I responded I have had one other estimate. He proceeds to inform me that because of where I live he would have to charge travel time each day and it would be $1600 - $2000 dollars a day for tree removal, also if I don't want to keep the wood it would be $150 a load to haul it away and they would have to make many trips. "I don't work cheap. I have four trucks and a crew so I won't be cheap" First, he hasn't even been to my place to look at the job, second I called him from this site BECAUSE I was looking for a professional company that is licenced and insured, not CHEAP. I explained I wasn't looking to hire someone out of Home Depots parking lot but someone that I felt comforable with and a professional company. This apporoach I found to be extremely unprofessional and I would NEVER hire this company based soley on this call. I told him not to bother coming and giving me the estimate, it's obvious he was not interested in the job so I wasn't going to waste his time or mine. he must have more busniness than he needs, I was expecting to pay between $8000 - 10,000 dollars to have them removed, but NOT to this company for sure! If you don't want to bid a job or travel to that area don't make the appointment! But to tell someone your expensive before even looking at the job, is just unprofessional.......

On the recommendation of a friend, I hired them to prune a huge gum tree in my newly bought house. I found them to be very professional and in my opinion they did a great job. I would highly recommend them.

On the morning of the initial date for the removal, it had been raining heavily most of the night. Mark called about 7:15 AM advising me that, while the trees could be cut down and removed in the rain, there was a high likelihood of ground damage due to the soggy condition and all the tramping back and forth. He also advised against doing the grinding at this time because the ground would be so muddy and saturated. He advised rescheduling, which we did for the following week.

The crew arrived earlier than requested, which was the only slight negative to the entire process and which is why I graded them a and quot;Band quot; in punctuality. In consideration of the tenant's request to not be there before 8AM, this was the time to which we had agreed when the service was rescheduled. However, the crew is accustomed to being on the job site between 7-7:30, and they arrived shortly after 7. Fortunately, the tenant was cooperative and access to the yard was permitted about 7:30. I did express my disappointment in this oversight, and Mark apologized sincerely for the error on his part. It wasn't a big deal in the end, but created a bit of a surprise for the tenant that morning.

I got to the site about 8:45 AM and 2 trees were already down and being shredded! Sheets of plywood had been placed against the property to protect it from scrapes and potential small rocks during the grinding process. I reviewed my understanding with the foreman on site as to where the new shrubs were to be planted, and then left the site.

I returned later that afternoon (about 3:30) to inspect the job and was very impressed with the lack of debris! The shrubs were planted and the area was very clean. In speaking with a neighbor, he said he was so fascinated by the whole project and their professionalism that he sat on his patio and watched the efficiency of the laborer who climbed the tree, trimming limbs on the way up and cutting off lengths of trunk on the way down.

There was some minor collateral sprinkler damage, which was to be expected. However, so far it does not seem like there was any actual pipe damage but that remains to be determined.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this company. I was very pleased with their overall professionalism and performance. Contact was handled promptly and courteously.

Mark Patatucci showed up right on time with his other two crew members and all equipment. Did a repeat walk-through to confirm the details of the work. Used a 60-foot boom truck for the tree removal and trimming of the large maple, as they were accessible to the driveway. Other dead wood pruning done by climbers in the trees. Equipment all professional, up-to-date. Large console-operated stump grinder used on the stump and on the surface roots (one reason we got rid of the liquid amber tree, another was driveway damage from root growth). Power chipper handled logs up to about 4 inches in diameter. The rest will be my firewood, per my request. Full clean-up. Completed the quoted work on time.
