I was given "the big sales spiel" and he required payment before he began the job. He took no measurements, but charged me for cleaning 1200 sq. ft. of wall-to-wall carpet in an 1800 sq.ft. house. In fact he only cleaned the center of the rooms and around furniture, never moving anything. There is a California King sized bed in the main bedroom that takes up most of the room. Only the perimeter was cleaned. I later discovered an area next to the end of the sofa that was literally black from a spill. It hadn't been touched. He claimed the job would "be perfect".
He claimed that he would "do the baseboards" (whatever that means) which he couldn't have done without moving the sofa out. He said he would clean the window and door tracks. Didn't. He talked about a "complementary car wash", but nothing materialized. Although he used a fan for a short while, it still took overnight to dry. The most shocking to me was the price, and the fact that I paid it. The most I have ever paid, and for better jobs, was $300. I can only advise others to get other estimates before committing.
It’s been 12 years of 3 cats, lots of ground-in food traffic from the kitchen, garden/dirt traffic from the front door
- and now suddenly our carpet looks brand new! We’ve done it ourselves before, and once by a “pro”, and nothing came close to today’s results. Nothing.
Tony is awesome. A no-problem, professional, who is also kind (and funny).
He gets right to the job, is thorough, more than fair, and goes that extra mile (or two).
I made calls before deciding on On-The-Spot. (He had a lot of great reviews.) Everyone else was either out of my ballpark
or sounded impersonal and preoccupied on the phone. Translate - full of themselves. Tony made me think like he was going to pay attention to my job, which he most certainly did. Couldn’t be happier!
