Superior Painting

I first met Craig when I decided to paint the exterior of my 1926 home in Monterey. I called 4 painters. They all showed up to look at the job, but one declined to bid, one gave me a verbal estimate only, and a third promised a bid that never materialized. Craig was the only one to provide a written bid, which he did in a timely and professional manner. His written bid was lower than the one verbal bid I received from another painter. Craig and Faustino showed up as scheduled, completed the job in the time frame estimated, and even put an extra coat on one side of the house - just because there was enough paint left over. Before he left, Craig neatly labeled all the paint cans and provided a written list of paints used, plus a 2-year guarantee. The house looks fantastic!
Several months later I bought a 6-unit Victorian apartment building. Some of these apartments were a mess, and hadn't been painted in decades. Craig spent two hours looking over the job and said, in all honesty, that it was going to be difficult to bid because of the complexity of the job. Based on my prior experience with Superior Painting, I agreed to paying time and materials with Craig providing a written estimate. The job ended up taking the better part of three months. One month after he finished, Craig appeared at my door to apologize for exceeding the estimated cost; he then offered to paint an additional unit (occupied during the remodel) for cost of materials only. I didn't ask for this but he insisted!
In both cases I found Craig and Faustino professional, punctual, and extremely skilled. Even more important, Craig is outstanding at working with and around other trades; both contractors working on the apartment building have recommended him to other clients. Craig is not the cheapest painter out there, but his pricing is more than fair and he offers outstanding value for the price. He is flexible without being flaky, an important quality in any professional. I also appreciate that he offers a guarantee and clearly labels all paints used. I have no hesitation in recommending Superior Painting and will continue to recommend them to friends and associates.
A final note: Craig is current on all the EPA requirements needed to remodel older buildings and remove paint in an ecologically acceptable manner. This is especially important when dealing with commercial property.
