The Glass Guru specializes in Foggy Window Restoration (Moisture Removal). In many cases, and retrofit windows., custom mirrors and frames, custom shower and tub enclosures, in-glass pet doors, we can permanently remove the fog or moisture between the panes of a dual-pane window for about 50% less than replacement. We offer a 10-year transferable warranty with the service. We also offer glass replacement for windows and many doors

Superlatively. I contacted the company and spoke with Sheri. She scheduled an appointment for her sister Laurel to come out to assess the problem and give us an estimate. Laurel was prompt, pleasant, and knowledgeable. She determined that the windows needed new balances and could be repaired. She took them apart, showed us what was wrong with them, noted the part numbers, and quoted us a price for parts and installation of $233.00. We were thrilled! Another company--a prominent franchise which is highly rated on Angie's List--had sent out a sales representative who advised us that the windows could not be repaired because they were so old (18 years) and parts for them could no longer be obtained. He was proposing to replace both windows for a total cost of around $1,000.00. So we were very happy to have found The Glass Guru. The bottom line is that anyone can sell you a window. Not everyone is competent enough and/or willing to repair one for you. We received a phone call a few days after Laurel's visit advising us that the parts were in. We scheduled an appointment for the repair. Dale, the installer, was right on time and accomplished the repair within minutes. He was a pleasant fellow who gave us some advice regarding lubricating and maintaining the windows. We like everything about this company. The people are pleasant, knowledgeable, competent, responsive, and responsible. Everyone we interacted with at The Glass Guru was a pleasure to do business with. Laurel and Sheri are committed to honest and excellent work at a fair price.

The window looks great and the grids were applied to the new window very nicely. There was one problem with communication about the applied grids. I had asked that they not do that part of the job since the labor charge was more than I wanted to pay. I discussed this with the workers when they arrived, yet they still applied the grids. I told the owner Lauren and she apologized and reduced the labor charge on the invoice, which I thought was fair. Overall, I'm happy with the company and the work they did.

Initially there was no reply to my voice mail after 3 days, so I called Angie's List and had them look into it.  Then I got a call from Laurel who explained the she had been absent her office staff and hadn't checked her voice mail.  After that things went very well.  
She warned me that by ordering a new window rather than cleaning, it could take 2-4 weeks before they could install, and it took all of those four weeks.  
The window looks great but the reason I gave them a C on Quality above is that after the installer left, I found all the debris from the removal of the old window on the window sill below.  No big deal.  It took two minutes to clean it.  Also found upon closer inspection a lot of smudges on the glass and that was easy to do but Dale(very pleasant man) needs to look a bit closer at his work before he leaves.
It looks so good that now we want to replace the other window in the same room.

We didn't want to replace the entire window simply because some condensation had collected between the double panes.  Glass Guru provided a good, reasonably priced alternative by simply replacing the glass within the existing frame.  Work was done well and now, five months later, we've had no further problem with the window.  The only negatives, which were minor, were that one of the workers got noticeably irritated with my husband's questions and supervision, and we had to remind them once not to put dirty materials on our carpet.  The work was done well and I would definitely use them again.

My first experience with the glass guru of Carlsbad was wonderful. I had two large glass panels in my garden window that had clouded up and stained so badly that I could barely see out of them, 2 years ago I had another company come out and wanted to charge me over 600.00 to replace them. So I waited and being a new Angies list member thought I would give it a try. Glass guru estimate was much cheaper $380.00 including install. It went perfectly, and WOW! what a difference.!! They were here on time and done within an hour very professional. Then I noticed another one of the panels had just started to fog. So immediatley called them again and the owner Laurel came out and did the work herself to defog my window and it is perfect now. Which would have been alot more expensive if I had waited as I would have had to replace the glass. I am so happy to have a clear beautiful view out my windows again!!! And it comes with a 10 year warranty for the defogging.

Laurel from the company contacted us promptly after our initial request and stopped by to provide a quote within a few days. She provide a quote which seemed reasonable and scheduled our installation within a week of request. The installation went smoothly and on schedule. Overall highly recommend the provider for their professionalism and quality of work. 
I felt that the quote was a bit on the high side, but I have no way of confirming that since no other provider that I contacted was willing to serve as the work apparently was too small for them (under $2500). The glass guru had no such restrictions and I am happy to have found them otherwise we would still be living with broken windows.

I called the Glass Guru in September to inquire about a doggie door.  The office manager was very nice and we made an appointment the same week for an quote.  Laurie came out and provided us a quote on the spot for an in-door doggie door.  She even brought a sample of the style of door that she would be installing...very good quality. I really enjoyed how personable both Laurie and the technician was on each visit. The doggie door was installed a little over a week later by a technician. He was very nice as well.  They measured the size of the dog and door correctly and the doggie door is the right color and style.  I really appreciate doing business with a woman-owned business and appreciate how honest and easy it was to work with them.  This is a very good company and will use them again for any future needs.

We just recently purchased a 20 year old home in the Oceanside area.  The glass in most of our windows looked foggy, discolored and really horrible. Our neighbor had some work done by The Glass Guru last year and had a good experience so we gave them a call and Laurel, the owner, came out the next day to take a look and provide an estimate.  I was very impressed with her knowledge about windows/glass/restoration and she provided us several options.  We appreciated that she wanted to try to save us money so we decided to go with the low-e glass replacement (IGU) option. Laurel and her office folks kept us in the loop throughout the ordering process and about a week later, the glaziers came out and installed the new glass windows.  The glaziers did a great job and I especially appreciate how well they cleaned up after the job.  They really showed attention to detail and were very friendly, polite, and professional. This was such a great experience for my husband and I that we will surely use The Glass Guru again for any future needs.

Laurel came out for a quote the day after I called and responded with the quote that night. She knows her job well - measuring the windows, knowing what type of glass to use, etc. She pointed out that the french door that had the failure had been installed incorrectly. Dual pane glass has to be installed with the coated pane on the outside. Who knew? Not the installer and the other business that gave me a quote didn't mention it.

The window tech came out a second time to measure all of the windows, the order was placed and the windows were installed two weeks later. (Installation might have occurred sooner but I told them to wait until the weather had cooled off.) The installers were very professional. I was very surprised at how quickly they were able to switch out the windows. All the windows and doors are wood. I was afraid they might be cosmetically damaged but they look great.

The Glass Guru performed exactly as I would want a business to perform: they responded quickly, performed all work promptly and above to expectations, left no mess behind and everyone was professional. It sounds so simple but, in my experience, this is not always what you get. I will certainly use the Glass Guru again and do recommend them to anyone without reservation.

My kitchen window's seal had cracked and allowed moisture to get between the panes, I could barley see out of it.
I received a free estimate, while Laurel was here she explained what the different options were for the window, beginning at the least expensive.
The installer arrived on time, was very professional and respectful.  He performed the job quickly and efficiently.
I will be using them again to replace my bedroom window.
