Michael Dowe Painting

When Michael Dowe came to our house to give us a quote, he convinced us that he was detail oriented. He told us he had been in the painting business for 15 years. The entire job was a nightmare. We used oil-based paint on the crown moulding and all of the window casings, door casings, and floor boards. He assured us that there would be no over spray issues because his workers would be diligent in covering and securing our furniture. I told him we had had problems before with a (professional) painter getting over spray on our brand new dining room set, but he assured us it would not happen. Well... it did! He got oil-based over spray on our brand new bedroom set. The job took twice as long as he quoted; he painted the ceiling in one of the rooms the wrong color and then tried to say it was not his fault. Then wanted to charge me an additional $350 to correct it. It wasn't until after he completed the project that I realized he had used a flat finish in the master bedroom where he was supposed to have used a satin finish. He was not detail oriented in the least. He didn't tape off around the windows just for starters. He was rarely on the job site, and one of his workers put a huge saw on my dining room table. Luckily it didn't scratch it, but what kind of professional disrespects someone's belongings!
