I contacted Greg Bullock to install a rain capture system. He has knowledge of this work, but may never have actually done it because his implementation was a joke. As part of the bid he quoted over $1000 for the gutter system. I went and got an independent quote from a reliable "Angies List" company who did the work for $499. And they were great! San Diego Rain Gutters. Once I realized how out of line his quotes were I questioned his bid, which only included a RANGE of prices. I don't know about you but there is a big difference between $1500 and $2100 for one part of the job. Bottom line is he had no clue what things cost OR he was just overcharging. He brought in cheap material (I found this out from real contractors who are working on my property), but luckily he only installed about 30 feet of the 120 feet of pipe needed. Even though I paid him he never came back because I never signed the contract. The reason I never signed was because the prices quoted were too high. I made the mistake of NOT WORKING WITH A LICENSED CONTRACTOR, HANDING OVER ANY MONEY EVEN THOUGH I DID NOT AGREE WITH HIS "RANGE" OF COSTS AND SAW HIS UNPROFESSIONAL MANNER. As an example he charged $100 to come out and give a bid (again my mistake that I allowed that) AND he tried to charge me for his time in getting bids from gutter companies. He believes each second he spends thinking about your job is his valuable time and he wants money. That is not how the real world works! I now have to sue in small claims court to recover the money I paid for almost nothing being done.
