I have a hybrid and I learned early on that the dealership needs to work on them. They have different tires and different oil.

I am not happy with the Toyota dealer and I will never go back there.  I feel like they ripped me off.  I took the car in and unfortunately it was a Friday.  They didn't have the part, which I didn't feel was my fault.  I couldn't drive the car.  It wasn't going to be until Tuesday that they could fix it, but they made me rent a car from them; they didn't give me a loaner.  Again, it wasn't my fault that they didn't have the part.  They should've given me a loaner.  Fixing a trunk latch I would figure would cost no more than a couple hundred dollars for the part and the labor, and it ended up being almost $750 - I think more than that, even.  And that's just utterly ridiculous.  I had to pay for the rent-a-car, yeah, and we had it for three days.  We had it from Friday to I think Tuesday.  I mean that was, you know, just absurd as far as I was concerned.  And again, why don't they have a part?  What is a parts department for if they don't have parts?  That's fine if they have to order the part, but that's not my fault.  The time  I lived in Florida the Toyota dealer I went to there, if I needed to leave the car, they either gave me a loaner or I got a free one that the people they were affiliated with were down the street. I didn't have to pay for renting a car because they couldn't get the work done or they didn't have the parts.  I was very happy with them.  They gave me a senior discount, which this one didn't.  One of the problems with the Toyota dealers is they can't be within thirty miles of each other, so if I don't want to go to this one I have to go to Watsonville.  It was at least $750 and that's ridiculous, just to fix a trunk latch.  That's absurd.  And most of that was renting the car.  I have not had a good experience there.  They've got cars lined up all the way to the street, just trying to get in and get serviced. There's nothing good about them at all.  You can go inside and wait.  I think they even have a TV in there and some magazines, but the big wait is just getting your car up there for service.  It's not my fault they didn't have a part.  I shouldn't have had to pay for a loaner car.  I'm sure the quality is okay, I guess I'd give them a B.  If they change their parts for every year of car, that's not my problem either.  The only thing I'll say that's good is they will drive you home and come back and pick you up if you need to do that, but I needed over a three day period from a Friday to a Tuesday, I need my car, or I needed a car.  They didn't seem to be the least bit concerned about the fact that they were ripping me off.

I called numerous people

involved with Toyota but was told that their sorry that no one told me that the warranty would run out so quickly but they will do nothing about it. Don't depend on the sales rep. or finance department to tell you the fine print details. You are better off to refuse their sales pressure and read everything. Don't buy an extended warranty form Toyota!

They have always been very professional, thorough, and very easy to work with. Because they are a dealer, they are expensive. But we have always been confident about the service we have received. I highly recommend them for both sales and service.
