"With all due respect, the dates on this review are totally wrong. This job was performed Nov.21 of 2006. Our service and providers have greatly improved since then. We endeavor to take seriously comments from clients and will continue to provide professional, reliable workmanship. Jane Story, Owner, Handyman Co-op"
The carpenter went to home depot, got me some prices and provided me with a detailed email about the costs of each option. Since I was doing shelving and cabinets in the garage, I certainly didn't want to spend a ton of money. When I got the cost, I was a little shocked. But, I was provided with the receipt for the materials and of the $650 that I spent total, the materials were about $500. Personally, I am not sure a "carpenter" was needed for this job, but he did a good job and didn't go over the time.
The reason that I gave this review a "B" was more for the carpenter than the service. I asked him if he would come back and install a wardrobe cabinet (it was in my initial quote but I chose to not go with it due to cost) because I liked the other cabinets and could really use it. He said he would. He picked up the cabinet from Home Depot and was going to install it at my house. When he arrived and took it out of the box it was partially damaged on the door. He asked if I wanted him to install it anyway. I said no. He said he would go back and get another but would also check out the prices to see how much it would be if he built one. After he left that afternoon with the damaged wardrobe cabinet...I never heard from him again.
The service was good. The quality of the work was good. But, it was unprofessional of the carpenter to not call back. It was right before the Thanksgiving holiday and things got busy for most people, so I never pursued it further.
