Rick finished the job, except for some bullnose tiles that had not arrived (the general contractor working with Rick had measured incorrectly). Rick assured us that he would come back promptly to finish the job when the bullnose pieces were ready. He insisted on receiving full payment, however, since the missing tiles were not his error. In good faith, I paid him the money. BIG MISTAKE. What ensued has been the classic "disappearing contractor" scenario: It has been 10 months and Rick has not returned, even after numerous phone calls and promises. At one point, his phone number was disconnected and he was impossible to reach. Even the main contractor who hired Rick could not get him to finish the job. He always has excuses, does not return calls, and clearly is not motivated to finish a job that he was fully paid to complete. AVOID THIS CONTRACTOR AT ALL COSTS. His life is chaotic, and he will make you miserable. The amount of stress I have incurred try to get Rick Lewis to finish his work has cost me dearly. His tile work is decent, but he lacks any sense of personal responsibility or professional integrity. I will now hire another tile contractor to finish Rick's unfinished job.
