Called Tuesday around 4pm. They were able to set an appointment for me after 3 on Wednesday to make it easy to meet him after work. I needed a new something igniter to start the burners. They we able to get the part under warranty even though it was installed about 8 years ago by another company I can’t remember. Everything is up and working again.

I am very happy with them. I have used them for years.  We have a high end filter so we pay for that additionally each time.  It is a company that I trust, they follow through, the people that comeknow what they are doing and I feel properly taken care of. I know the price is not on the low end but not ridiculous. No complaints.

After FIVE appointments with them (only three of which saw someone actually show up) my unit was still not fixed, nor were they able to diagnose the problem. Techs came who had been given incorrect information by their office about my issue and did not have time to work on it because they seemingly had a more important job to go to, or they came without the correct equipment or supplies. Twice, after taking time off work and waiting all afternoon, I was called and asked to reschedule my appointment. For the fifth appointment, I called in the morning to confirm my afternoon appointment, but no one ever showed up or called me to say they weren't coming. That evening, I called and left a message saying that I was very unhappy and frustrated and asked for the owner or someone in charge to call me back. That was three days ago and no one has bothered to contact me. I was happy with the service they provided when they installed my new unit, which cost thousands of dollars, but I am very, very disappointed in the horrible customer service when I'm not paying them scads of money. After hours taken off work and waiting for them to arrive, I finally called another company who arrived on time and fixed the problem in 30 minutes.

Horrible company. Do yourself a favor and don't do any business with this company. I am saving you. Don't fall for their low prices. It will cost you in the long run. I wish I could have turn back time and never purchase an A/C and furnace unit from them. I have had the unit for 2 years now and it stopped working twice since. And this is a brand new unit! For someone from this company to come and see what's up with the unit they charge a fee. I paid $145 for a technician to come a fix what they did wrong the first time. Now my unit does not work again and they want me to pay again. Save your money and frustration and avoid at all cost!!! It seems they also keep changing the company's name from NRG to Mediterranean Heating and Air Conditioning because they keep accumulating bad reviews every where.

The work is competent and professional. It usually takes 3/4 an hour. Usually one worker comes. Last time they had an apprentice to learn.

It was prompt, efficient, well done and was not more expensive then the estimate. The price was exactly on estimate and the estimate was not outrageous at all. The guy out here explained everything he was doing in a matter that I could understand.

The owner, Mike visited our home, ordered testing down on the venting system.  This test enabled us to use the current ducting system.     Mike recommended replacing the cellulose with R30 (today's standard). He also help by adding a plywood catwalk in the attic.
Installation was completed satisfactorily.  We would highly recommend Mediterranean Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc.  They were very professional, courteous and maintained a high standard of work ethics.

After noticing leaks in the pipes, we called and received an appointment for 2 days later.  Our job was Israel's last of a hot afternoon.  He saw right away where the leak was.  Then he climbed into the attic and found that there was a hole in copper tubing that was spewing water.  Instead of telling me he had to reschedule the repairs, he went to his warehouse, got the items he needed, and made the repairs.  He did this for us because it was just before the July 4th weekend.  Israel stayed until after 6:30 p.m. to complete all the work.  I so much appreciate his work ethic and professionalism.  We have usually received good service from Mediterranean but this was absolutely superb service.  Israel dis spill a little glue on our carpet but was very apologetic and said he'd let the company know.

We had a Freon refridgerant leak and the air conditioning unit stopped completely and we were unable to turn it on. They came out and did not diagnose the problem the first time and sent someone completely new to diagnose the problem the second time. They told us we had a leak problem and it took them 5 days to get back to us the third time. We were left in the heat for a week. In the meantime, he did not go under our home to even check our unit. It was not productive since they sent a new person and they charged me for services each time they came out to perform work. It took them three separate visits to our home to completely finish the job which was extremely inconvenient, not to mention dangerous with the heat here. When they finished the repair, they didn't even check to see if it was still leaking. We asked if they would mind checking under our home, where the unit is located, and they said they would charge me for him to go under and check to make sure if it was completely repaired.

Well, the routine maintenance was routine until the service technician, Nshan, mentioned the flame sensors were getting weak.  I asked how much will they cost?  Nshan told me $275 each.  After he left, I found the same part for my Lennox units online at Repair Clilnic for $16.75.  The part number was 52W29 for the Lennox G60UHV-60C-090X-02-02.  So I called Mediterranean Heating and Air Conditioning to find out why.  The guy who answers the phone said a guy named Randy would call me back with an answer.  A week later, I called again.  I was told Randy has been busy, but he would call.  After waiting more than a month for the call back, I called and asked to talk to the owner, figuring he might want to know how his employees are treating their customers.  Mike Gardener, the owner, picked up my voice mail and called back.  He was courteous, apologized for  no one calling me back.  Then he said Internet prices typically run about half what they have to charge for the part.  (To me, that doesn't explain the big difference in this case, $275 vs. $16.75!)  I suggested he get back to me after he looks into what happened.  That was three weeks ago.  After the phone conversation with Gardener, I did some more online research.  I checked out Yelp and looked at the customer horror stories using Mediterranean.  A couple of them were exactly like mine, a huge markup on the part price, with no explanation when it was questioned.  One guy tried to stop the installation of the part after he checked the online price, and the service technician refused to do stop.  Then I checked Angie's list, and lo and behold, more horror stories.  Then I also looked around Angie's list and spotted the sterling record of Kahn's Air Conditioning here in the San Fernando Valley.  In six months, when it's time for more routine maintenance, I'm calling Kahn's.   Keep in mind, this is not an easy thing for me to do.  Mediterranean had a sterling reputation itself when it installed my heating/air condx units thirty years ago.  Then they were replaced by this same firm in 2004 including replacing the old duct system.  Up to now, service has been great.  But something happened in the last few years.  I don't know what it is, but I do know there are a number of other former customers who would agree with me.
