LOWE'S

They give 10% discount to veterans. They do subcontract the labor out but if there is a problem I just go back to Lowes and they take care of it. They've been excellent on everything they've done for us. I don't think I've had to return anything. I don't have any complaints about them or any of their contractors.

They did a perfect design. The original counter tops that were brought in were the wrong color. We called Lowe's and they brought in new ones that were the right color. They made good on the deal. It is gorgeous. The dishwasher and the microwave fit in perfectly. I would use them again.

The service excellent

The sub contractor that Lowe's hired did a really great job. It was great. For some reason it all just worked out. They did what they said. They did a good job. We got to go and pick out our granite at a place and they were really good too. It was a reasonable price.

This review applies only to Lowe's and my purchase of a water heater and arrangements for the installation through them. The plumber who actually did the installation (Emerald Green Plumbing) was wonderful and that is why I rate and quot;qualityand quot; and and quot;punctualityand quot; as and quot;excellentand quot;. I would also give Emerald Green and quot;excellentand quot; for professionalism, but Lowe's deserves an and quot;Fand quot; in this category. I visited the store twice to make my decision about the size of the heater and length of warranty I wanted. I choose a heater that was about $450 and the shelf at Lowe's said and quot;$269 installationand quot;. When the installation order was completed, the costs came to almost $1500. There was an additional $250 charged by the plumber for running a cooper drain pipe from the heater to the outside (which I understand is required in LA county) that wasn't included in the Lowe's installation order, bringing the total to about $1750.
Here are my complaints about Lowe's: One of the sales people who and quot;helpedand quot; me make my decision about equipment said very confidently and quot;The best money you can spend is the $159 for a warranty on the installation. If the pipes spring a leak, it will cost you at least $150 to have a plumber come outand quot;. After the heater was installed the plumber showed me that his company provided a one-year warranty on their work and said I should call them immediately if I had any concerns. An honest mistake on Lowe's part? Perhaps, but.....
While writing up all of the charges beyond the cost of the heater and the standard installation charge, another sales person told me that LA county required an expansion tank (and all the related bells and whistles). However when the city inspector came to approve the job, he said and quot;An expansion tank, huh? Not required, but it is probably a good ideaand quot;.My conclusion: Either Lowe sales people are woefully misinformed about their services -- or they worked overtime selling (or trying to sell) me things that were not needed for this job. My next home project is installing new carpet in my upstairs, but you can bet I won't be going to Lowe's for this work.

I purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher, and paid for it, from the Lowes Northridge store. They called me the next day and said they would deliver it on 7/7/12. On the promised day, they never showed up and said they couldn't ship until 7/21/12. I was really unhappy about this, because I wanted to find out if Lowes was something besides a weak Home Depot wannabe. It turned out that Lowes failed to impress again. Lucky for them, I was able to order another dishwasher and went to pick it up personally because I don't trust them to complete a home delivery transaction, in my opinion they still don't have it together.

Lowe's has the best selection of appliances of any major hardware store. I was able to find a dishwasher with a lot of features for a great price. You do not get the service of a specialized appliance store, so you need to do your own research. Delivery and installation is available from the store. However, dishwashers are easy to handle on your own.

Fast, efficient service with the carpeting.

IT WAS JUST REALLY EASY. WE WENT TO THE STORE, PICKED OUT THE CARPET, THEY CAME OUT, AND PUT IT IN. IT WAS EXCELLENT. I'M A SET DECORATOR. I SEE PEOPLE LAY CARPET EVERY DAY. I KNOW WHEN IT'S DONE WRONG.

PRODUCT WAS INSTALLED WITH SOME DIFFICULTY. INSTALLER FAILED TO MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT THE STEP AND CONCRETE THAT WOULD HAVE TO BE INSTALLED. PRODUCT WAS GREAT BUT INSTALLATION WAS LACKING.
