Aggressive Windows is the best widow company I’ve worked with in the past 20 years. Mike, the owner is a great guy and knows his trade. He measures the window openings and stucco thickness perfectly, so the windows install easily and look great. I have some irregular shaped trapezoid windows which I assumed I would need to get glass inserts for instead of a traditional framed window, but mike came up with a solution that I went for. They came out looking so much better than my original plan. But the best thing about mike is that he really cares about his customers which is rare these days. Milgard sold me a defective window and the defect wasn’t discovered until after the windows was already installed. The issue was that the window wouldn’t lock, which Is not a minor issue. I contacted milgard and they gave me the runaround for 3months and after all that, they decided they were NOT going to fix it. They wanted me to order and pay for a brand new window (note: this window cost $1000). I contacted mike and explained the situation, and he fought with milgard for another 3 months but finally he got them to agree to replace the defective window. Not many contractors would got to bat for a customer and fight such a lengthy battle especially months after the sale. I was so happy he got them to replace the window I sent mike a thank you card and $100 bill. He decided to use the money to take his crew to lunch. He’s just a real ‘stand up’ guy which is hard to find these days, especially in the construction industry. Aggressive is the only window/door company that I recommend to my friends and family.

Wish all home improvement companies were this good. From the initial phone contact with Juan, in home estimate and measurement by Mike -an owner, to the 3 man installation team, everyone was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and honest. Mike answered all my questions about the windows and installation process in a friendly, non patronizing, but informative manner. I received a quote within 24 hours with a detailed description of each window and pricing (which is very competitive) and additional costs of installation/ delivery/ tax. The installation team was the best that I have ever encountered. They arrived on time and after Mike did the introductions and reviewed each window with the foreman, they immediately covered the floors and furniture in each room. With expertise and coordination among the crew, each old window was removed, area cleaned, followed by installation of the new one. At completion, they removed all debris, swept and vacuumed both inside and outside, and set back the furniture. No damage, no mess left behind in addition to a top notch efficient installation job. Amazing

Mike is incredibly responsive, professional and friendly. I got two estimates to replace our windows. Mike came out and measured everything and said he'd have the estimate to me in a couple of days. He sent it the next day. The other guy took a couple of weeks + a phone call from me. Mike was focused on the most cost effective way to do the job with my aesthetic wishes in mind. We had a bit of tricky situation because the old windows were installed in an odd way, which impacted the install of the new windows, but Mike took a lot of time to sort it out and trouble shoot and the new windows are P E R F E C T. He came out with the crew and the had a big pow wow, then Mike left and his guys went to work and got it all right. Not only was the job done just right, but they were polite and tidy. If you want to deal with someone who actually calls you back and wants your business...someone who is organized and has their (business) act together, someone who is also nice and easy to talk to (a very clear communicator!) you absolutely MUST call Aggressive Sash and Door. We couldn't be happier...from the first call until they left once the job was done. We will have them back in a few months to replace more windows.

They came to install the windows, and the first day they broke the kitchen clock, my sprinkler. They forgot to caulk on the inside of the window. Immediately after arriving they dropped off their crew that did't speak English, and left them with no supervision. There was an 8 inch gap filled with caulking, which leads to me to believe that this company is extremely unprofessional. The windows are of great quality, the installation they performed was sub par.

To date, 5 of the windows they installed leak and are falling apart.
Response from Aggressive Sash & Door
"Our installers are employees of ours and do speak English(. We always have a lead installer providing supervision on an installation. The windows carry a lifetime warranty and are probably not falling apart. If so, we would gladly put a service request in to Milgard to take care of any issues since they are under warranty. I was never made aware of any damage to clocks or sprinklers done by our employees. An 8 inch gap cannot be filled with caulking. Not quite sure why this review was written over 8 years after installation."

When we started this process, we went to Aggressive's showroom and met Ernie there. He's the sales and showroom manager. He was wonderful! He answered every question we had, showed us all the different styles of windows, privacy glass, moulding, sliding door handles-everything.
He never made us feel like we were wasting his time. Then when we were ready to proceed, Ernie came out to measure to give us a written estimate.
Once we agreed to the estimate, we scheduled an install date. He ordered the windows and they took just as long as he said they would. The windows were delivered to the house the day before installation and his guys were ready to go first thing the next day.
Installation was quick and easy, and his guys knew just what they were doing. There were a couple of manufacturer defects that came to light during installation, and Ernie contacted the manufacturer directly on our behalf and set up getting replacements.
These guys are a first class operation! I highly recommend them.

It went very easy. Ernie was prompt and my windows look beautiful. He also gave me some information on the need for the energy efficient windows, especially during summer. That helped me pick the right windows. Now when I am in the back part of the house it doesn't feel so cold next to the window. Great service.

Overall the service was outstanding. All windows were replace within two days. The owner replied immediately on my initial request and did a cost estimation, which was very close to the actual cost. He was very knowledgeable what windows to use and consulted me for any exception. The people who replaced the windows were very friendly as well. We originally agreed that the house would be empty due to remodeling but then everything moved around and he had to work around moving boxes, which didn't seem to be a bigger deal. So overall I was more then happy with the work and feel comfortable recommending him. The only issue I found was a bit after the work was done and is the main reason why I don't feel comfortable to provide an "A" rating. At too many windows I found hand and finger prints. I understand that this is a labor intensive work but we just had the house painted. But independent of that I think they should have at least clean it up. Now I have to do it. I also found in one of our rooms a very small crack in our brand new hardwood floor. Because of the moving and unpacking I didn't see it until 6 weeks later. Considering that I was about to write this review I contacted him first. However while he offered to have a look at it he also thought it would be odd to contact him that later after. I am not even sure what he is applying. I guess he doesn't believe me.
Again besides those small items I think the job was done very well. Just not superb.

I really, really wanted to like this company because I had a great experience working with salesman, Ernie Martinez.  He was incredibly patient, had great follow through, helped us pick out our windows and even the grid designs.  He was fantastic, he really held my hand through the whole process.  My disappointment was with the installation.  The day they came out to install our windows, a large team of workers showed up and went to work.  Sounds great, right?  No, because what ended up happening is that one or two guys were responsible for installing one window and doing repairs and since there was no one overseeing their work, it was all very inconsistent workmanship.  There were nails that weren't nailed in all the way, there were some messy caulk work and they left hand prints and smear marks on the window frames, windows and blinds, which they never cleaned up.  I just felt like they rushed to get the job done and didn't spend too much time on the details and making sure the work was done well.  I spent a week after they were done going around to each of the windows and cleaning the frames and windows.  Seriously, your job is installing windows, why wouldn't you make sure that the glass is clean?   My husband ended up calling Ernie and talking to him.  A workman came out to finish one window and he went around and made sure all the nails were nailed in and made some fixes that my husband pointed out.  I just feel like they should have done it, without us needing to say anything.
Response from Aggressive Sash & Door
"We appologize to the customer for some workmanship issues that were not to our standards. We sent out an employee to correct the issues as soon as we were notified by the customer. Corrective action was taken with our installers who originally performed the work. The glass cleaning was not included on the contract with the customer. We will always strive to perform the best possible installations."

Couldn't have asked for more!  The final result is stunning, and Ernie was the best!  He offered terrific advice while listening to exactly what we wanted.  His estimate was wonderfully clear and easy to understand, especially compared to some of the estimates I received from other window shops.  Ernie was super responsive, and refined his estimate multiple times as we adjusted what we wanted.  On the site, his work crew was superb.  It's amazing how efficiently they worked.  When things went not quite as planned, they very were accommodating.  We have no complaints at all!  When it comes time to remodel our next house, these guys will be the first people I call.

Our 60 year old drafty back door needed a replacement. We wanted to have the same door to stay consistent with the house, but with dual glaze, low-e and tempered glass (the latter is code in our area). The door is a custom made Douglas Fir with 5 window cassettes, it looks like the old one, but thicker, more solid and weather stripped. I dealt with Ernie Martinez who came over to measure the door.  As explained to us, it took a few weeks for the door to arrive.
A team of two excellent installers came with all the necessary tools to cut the door to size at our location. Since the new door was thicker than the old one, some adjustments had to be made to fit the frame. They also weatherstripped the door. They left the work site in a neat and clean condition.
The door came in raw wood.I will paint it myself. After removing all the putty, I use a non leak masking tape to cover the glass leaving a tiny sliver of glass next to the frame exposed. That way I paint that tiny band on the glass where wood and glass join. It seals that little gap where moisture can get in. Since it will be white, I use linseed oil paint. It dries a lot more slowly than other paint, but offers excellent flexibility, durability and protection.
Another advice: Be very specific with your order. Since I did not specify the color of the wheatherstripping, it came in metal. It should have been white, but I did not think of it when I ordered, neither was the option explained to me.

Mike arrived on time for the estimate.  Explained my options, told me when I would receive my estimate by email. He was personable,  and presented all my options.  I received the estimate, hired him, and he told me he would email me as soon as the windows were ready.  He promptly set up my installation date and Mike and his crew arrived right on time.  They were neat, clean, considerate, helpful, and fast.  They actually finished earlier than the original estimated time.
I LOVE MY WINDOWS!  My house looks better, the noise from outside has been greatly reduced, and the house feels cooler (temperature!) now.
I give Mike and his team the highest rating possible, they were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Angies List, I thank you for finding me such a great company!  I am 100% satisfied!

NOTE. This first paragraph is an update to my earlier review below it.

It's been raining for a couple days and one of the new windows installed by Aggressive Sash and Door is leaking profusely. A loose screw in the metal frame is letting water pour onto my floor. The screw doesn't appear to be screwed into a stud, just dangling in it's hole, so the hole for the screw has become  a water spout from outside pouring rainwater onto my floor - soaking the wall, floor, plaster, curtains, etc..  Also, there's condensation on the inside of the double panes of glass so about 50% of the window is cloudy looking. I'll post another update to report on how (or if) this company resolves the problem of their "screwed" up installation. So far, the response from Mike Frisoli, has been "put buckets under the leak."

I hired Aggressive Sash and Door to replace the windows in my condo with double pane Milgarde windows. I chose ASD based on their price quote and their good reviews on Angies List. I paid them a deposit on 9/1/11 to begin the job. Unfortunately, the job was finally finished on 6/18/13 and it was a nightmare from beginning to end because of their negligence, defective Milgarde products, and faulty installation (by both ASD and Milgarde).
1. The owner of ASD, Nathan Wood, took measurements for the windows. Almost all of the measurements he took were inaccurate so when the windows and screens arrived the first time most of them didn't fit. He  took new measurements. Again, when the windows and screens arrived they didn't fit and/or many of them were defective (numerous scratches, air bubbles, UV coating on the wrong side of the glass, dirt and debris inside the glass panes, etc.). This pattern repeated itself over and over for two years! To make matters even worse,  I missed many, many days of work over the course of this two year ordeal.
3. Just like the windows, the first round of screens they installed didn't fit. It was impossible to remove the screens without breaking them (damaging the mesh and breaking off the plastic tabs/handles). The Milgard screens are badly designed and cheaply made and it's still a problem to remove some of them.
4. They glass sliding balcony doors they installed were also the wrong size and had to be replaced.  In addition, they didn't apply enough caulking around the edges of the door casings for waterproofing. And, the metal trim/casing around the outside  of the doors wasn't sized properly leaving gaps between the metal parts for sound, water, and termites to enter my home. As usual, It took them several attempts to fix that instead of getting it right the first time.
5. Furthermore, in the installation process ASD and Milgarde workers damaged drywall around the windows and doors which they never repaired. I said I would fix the drywall damage just to be done with them.
6. While all these problems and hassles were going on, ASD told me that installation was complete - even though it wasn't considering the windows and screens didn't fit, had defects, etc. - and they wanted the rest of their payment. One of the mangers even threatened me, over the phone, if I didn't pay them the remaining balance, saying ASD wouldn't provide any future service to fix problems unless I paid them. Bear in mind, at this point, the job was far from complete even by the most minimal professional standards.
7. One of my neighbors hired ASD at the same time to replace one of his windows. He had similar problems with them installing defective windows and windows that were the wrong size  and they had to make several visits to replace just one window.
8. Further complicating matters and causing delays was that ASD and Milgarde refused my requests for documentation of their site visits. I simply asked them to provide me with a list of the repair requests and site visits that had been made (in case I needed the info for small claims court). It took them a long time to respond with minimal information, while accusing me of causing the delaying to avoid payment. Very unprofessional!
9. Instead of taking responsibility for his mistakes, Nathan blamed Milgarde and expected them to finish the job - even though I paid him and hired ASD - not Milgarde. I would not recommend in any way either company. Avoid them at all costs if you can.
10. One last thing. Read the warranty very carefully and never pay the full balance until you're sure installation and materials are properly installed and working. Things you may think are covered by warranty might not be, and, you may be liable for the cost of labor to fix or repair a defective product even if it's not your fault.
My experience with Aggressive Sash and Door makes me suspicious of all of their positive reviews. Consumers and buyers beware. I would never recommend Aggressive Sash and Door or Milgarde products to anyone, ever!
Response from Aggressive Sash & Door
"It is unfortunate that this member feels compelled to try and smear our reputation when both Aggressive Sash and Door and Milgard Windows worked diligently and professionally to resolve any and all of his issues and requests no matter how unreasonably they may have been. Although everything doesn't always go perfect, we strive to make sure that every customer is satisfied when we finish their project. We have been in business 19 years providing quality products and installations at a fair and competitive price and we have thousands of satisfied customers to back that up. Milgard Windows has been providing quality products and the best customer service department in the industry for over 50 years. This customer also tries to discredit the unsolicted reviews of other Angie's List members which is a shame."

I obtained very reasonable quotes for this job from three different window companies in my area and Aggressive Sash and Door was by far the best price and value.
I initially spoke with Ernie who came over to my home and took a good look at all the windows we wanted replaced. He is a very personable guy and will help you figure out what you want from your windows--he will not try and sell you on some particular set of windows. He walked us through the whole process of replacing the windows: how much they would cost, when the windows would be available, when they would be installed, how long the installation would take, who would be installing the windows, how much experience the installation crew had, etc.
Before deciding what brand and style of windows we were going to purchase and which window company we were going to contract to install the new windows, my wife and I went over to ASD's showroom. There we met the owner who showed us a variety of styles and helped us identify exactly what we liked. It was very nice to deal with a company that had their act together and actually liked the business of installing windows. Ultimately, ASD's attitude, experience and price sealed the deal for us and right there and then, we ordered windows and scheduled the installation date.
On the day the installation took place, Ernie showed up and introduced us to the installation crew (3 very professional and genuinely nice people) and left once they began the installation. It took less than 6 hours to remove the old windows, install the new windows, apply all the finishing touches and then clean everything up. It was a pleasure to have them work on the windows in our home.
I want to thank Ernie and his team for the excellent job they did on installing the windows---truly a top-notch job. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for window replacements in the West Hills/Woodland Hills area. I look forward to working with them again in the future.

WOW! If there were a higher rating than an A+ this company deserves it! Aggressive Sash & Door has the customer service that you only dream about...honest, straight forward & friendly. I called for an estimate & spoke with Mike (the owner). He came out an hour & a half after I called to give me an estimate. Mike was fantastic! He told me about rebates & upgrades that Milgard was offering, the installation process, as well as the basics of how the windows work, quality etc. Mike was very thorough & if you have the pleasure of meeting him you will immediately see that he has a wonderful personality. He emailed me an estimate (with & without upgrades) that same evening. I did proceed to get another quote for the exact same windows with the same installation process from an A rated Angie's list window & insulation company. The salesman was very nice, but did not tell me about the rebates or upgrades that Milgard was offering. His quote was over $2400 more that Aggressive Sash & Door for the same exact product! After deciding to go with Aggressive Sash & Door Mike proceeded to help us choose a grid pattern that would fit our house. Boy did he help us! I changed my mind several times on the grid patterns & each time he was patient & ready to help with suggestions. He walked my block with me looking at my neighbors houses then drove our neighborhood looking at other houses nearby & suggested which ones I may want to take a look at. Once we decided, we had our windows & doors installed within 2 weeks. They completed the installation in 1 day & the process was flawless. Our windows & doors are gorgeous & truly have transformed the look & feel of our house. We have many more home projects that we are working on & I wish that Aggressive Sash & Door could do them all. If you decide to replace your windows or doors you will not regret choosing this company. They are top notch & a true pleasure to do business with! Thanks very much Mike!!

Aggressive Door and Sash was the first company we saw and we were extremely impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of their manager Ernie Martinez who came by to evaluate our needs and measure our windows.  In the interest of good business we interviewed several other companies but decided to go with our first choice.  Definitely the right move!  Ernie followed up on everything, gave us a reasonable price and a quick installation date.  He showed up with his crew right on time and they did an excellent job!  His team worked quickly, efficiently and even finished earlier than expected.  They were all extremely polite and professional.  17 windows perfectly installed in less than a day.  If you want  great service without the high pressure sales talk this is the company we would recommend.
