It took longer than expected but only by a day. The issue is they worked for 2 days to remove the countertop and then "went dark" for over a week and we did not know why. So we were inconvenienced without a working kitchen longer than we needed to. We expected them to come do the install on 4/14 but they did not show nor call us. My husband had to wait every day because he expected them to show, but they did not. Finally after 4 days I called and got an installation date. So expect good work but not-so-great communication.
Jaime did the estimate, was right on time and gave me a great deal of excellent feedback about how I might want to approach the work to get the best result. The fireplace in the living room was the original - 1955- and had been stained badly by smoke over the years. The work done involved first smoothing out somewhat the rough stone, then floating the whole fireplace, then replacing the new surface with a tile I had selected. Jaime suggested that I have a granite remnant cut to order for the new mantel and hearth, and made that part of the bid. That granite was the only hold-up to the job, because it was another contractor who fashioned and installed it and they were not as scrupulous about their commitment to a timeline as Mike and Jaime. It all turned out well, though, the work was exceptional - careful and beautiful. The fireplace now is the focal point for the room, and I am so proud of it.
The work done on the bathroom floor was equally beautiful. I had selected white tiles and they hand-cut small 2"X2" black squares which Jaime counseled me to use sparingly to maximize the dramatic impact. He was exactly right. Because the house has only the one full bath, they demolished day one, floated day two, tiled and replaced the toilet day three and I was back in. They had to remove the baseboard to tile and replaced it so beautifully I actually think it looks better than the original.
I would recommend Innovative Tile Concepts wholeheartedly and would use them again if the opportunity came up where I needed high quality, beautiful work.
"Thank you [member name removed] for your review. Jaime will be taking over the company in the future when I retire. I did come by and worked on the base board until the cats made me leave. (Allergies to cats). Jaime will continue Innovative Tile Concepts well after I am gone."
I wanted to design the tile lay-out myself so it wasn’t just a grid on the wall. I’m not a tile expert, so Mike and his crew worked with me and gave me valuable input that helped us create a unique and beautiful bathroom.
I would highly recommend Innovative Tile Concepts. Thanks guys, for a job well done!
