Fry's is a bay area institution, but the purchase experience can be maddening. You don't dare ask one of the personnel for help or detail on the products, because that knowledge isn't there. The lines, especially during sales or the holiday season, can be incredibly long. On the plus side, Fry's had the variety and prices I was looking for.

The people were very helpful and fixed our hard drive right away. They diagnosed the problem in no time and fixed the computer within a couple of days. Also, they gave pointers for future problems if they were to come up again.

It was not a good experience. I had to take the computer back 3 times before they could get it fixed. They did not seem that knowledgeable. The cost was fine because I had bought a warranty on the computer but the service was terrible.
