Charles and his team were punctual, efficient and did a great job. I was always informed and they got the job done quickly at a fair price. I would definitely hire again

Killed my 25 year old Alder tree. I scheduled it for the fall and date they recommended. They cut branches back too severely, just leaving stumps. It tried to sprout some new branches, but it was too much. Tree was dead a couple months later - bark was falling off in sheets, no live leaves. When I complained to them, they visited and said it and quot;looked in decline and may have died.and quot; They refused to refund or even remove the stump for free (they wanted to charge me full price for removal), claiming their trim was correct and something else must have killed it. I had photos of the tree before it was trimmed and it was green, lush and healthy - dead less than 2 months after they trimmed. I had another professional out who verified it was dead, and that they had over- trimmed it. Then they got rude, saying all sorts of bad things about the other arborist. I may not be a tree professional, but seems obvious when a healthly mature tree that easily weathered droughts and several other trims without any adverse effects, suddenly dies after being reduced to stumps.

Response from Camarillo Tree Service

"Hi [removed member name], It is true you are not a tree expert and your renters did not care for your tree properly during the drought. You are not alone when it comes to beetles and herbicide damage. I can assure you that if you lived there this would not have happened. We pruned your tree to specs as in years past and an Alder is not drought tolerant and your was not even deep watered or monitored in the drought. I am sorry for your loss and the removal price was fair and I also have photos were it was evident that broad leaf herbicide was used to control Kikuyu grasses and the dead spot in your lawn. We have an excellent reputation as you can see here on angles list and through out the county for 27 years!!! Thanks"

Arrived on time with all needed equipment. Evaluated the best manner for cutting down, in small sections this very large tree in the back of my patio area. They worked very carefully. It is a day of noise with the chain saw and chipper working.
The clean up was well done.
I have used this company before and will call them again when needed.

The team of three men arrived on time, we're very professional, did a great job and checked back several times to make sure they had trimmed enough or whether I felt more trimming was necessary. I really appreciated the fact that I didn't have to ask them, that they checked back with me without my asking. They left a spotless back and front yard and took away all the debris. Our trees and bushes have never looked so good. I will definitely use them next year.

As expected, it was an exhausing day with the din of the chain sawing. This two man crew was so coordinated in their work ethics, care with the plants beneath the tree that they took down from the top to the ground level. Safety was quite evident, for each other and for the structual property that they were working above. As they roped down each large branches of the tree, it was moved to the front where their large chipper truck was located. Quite an artistic show of knowledge in physics and geometry.
I was worried for the array of other plants beneath and around the area. Not a one damaged.
The clean-up was thorough. Barely a scrap of debris left behind. The area from the back of the yard to the front, across the gravel driveway blown clean and raked up.

I contacted the company on April 3rd for a quote. Charles came out on Saturday, April 5th. That afternoon he emailed me a quote, which was $500.00 less then a local competitor. I immediately decided to go with Camarillo Tree and Landscape. I scheduled the work and Charles worked with me to get an immediate removal day despite their busy schedule. The work was completed today. I am very happy with the services provided and the price. I was also happy with the customer service the business provided.

A 40-50ft tree blew down due to high winds in the mid morning time frame on a Monday. No damage to any structures or vehicles however it did extend about 2 ft into the street. After checking Angie's list, we contacted Camarillo-Moorpark Tree and Landscape. They stated that they were available immediately for an estimate and would be able to remove the fallen tree NLT within 3 days. When the estimator arrived that same day he determined that due to the basic nature of the work, he had a crew available that could fit the removal of the tree into that days schedule. The tree was removed by 4:30 PM on the Monday it fell. All excess material with the exception of some sawdust resude was cleaned and made presentable.
Bottom Line: An expeditious, well done, professional service. I will highly recommend this company to any who need tree service.

Contacted this company based on Angie's List reviews. We had a large Japanese maple and two liquid amber trees in need of pruning. We are especially fond of the Japnese maple and wanted someone who understood trees and how to properly prune them. On visiting the company's web site and reading that they performed all work to ANSI standards we decided to call them for an estimate. Art from Camarillo Tree Service stopped by for the estimate and based on our conversation and his estimate decided to contract them for the job. Art and his crew showed up at the agreed upon date and time and did a very good job of pruning our trees. We had a different company prune the trees two years ago for about the same cost but the crew from Camarillo Tree Service did a much better job. We would definitely use them again.

Once again, as with previous times I've used this company, they did a great job. They arrived right on time, (7:15) worked quickly and carefully and were done with the work and clean-up by 3:00 that afternoon. The pruned trees look beautiful and you can't tell that the huge pine tree that was removed was ever there. I was amazed at how they were able to do so much without damaging the fences or surrounding plants. I'm very happy with the work that was done.

They showed up as expected, and took the tree down in two days. They were courteous and cleaned up. The only things that went wrong were: 1. a sprinkler head was damaged, which was repaired the day after the tree was down; and 2. a section of fence was damaged and was repaired as soon as they could get their man on the job. The owner painted it and it looks great!

They did an excellent job. They were professional and courteous and the whole gamut. They were there and everything was done promptly and they cleaned up. I was quite happy with the people. They were professional and polite and the other thing I liked about them was that they were insured and bonded. They are fairly local.

I had used this company in the past and was very happy with their work. Called and got a quick appointment for an estimate for some yard work at my parents house. The owner, Charles, came out and we did a walk around to discuss what needed to be done. I relied on his expertise to decide what needed to be removed or just pruned. The workers showed up in the morning right on time and the foreman went through the estimate to confirm the work to be done. The crew worked hard and fast and were done with the removals, pruning and clean-up by 2:30 that afternoon. I'm very happy with the way the yard looks. They did a great job for a great price.

I called at the end of April for an estimate to trim the trees in my front and back yards as well as remove a wayward ivy vine. I had called on a Friday afternoon, and had an estimate emailed to me by Monday. The price was incredibly reasonable, and I called to set up a time for them to come out. Due to my busy schedule, it a few days to find a time that would work. The company was very patient with me and worked to accomodate my schedule.
On the day of the service, the crew arrived on time. We did a walk through and reviewed everything that was on the estimate and talked through what they were going to do, and any preferences I had where appropriate. The crew was very professional, friendly, courteous, and they worked really hard. They were very focused on what the needed to do, and did it very well. They cleaned up everything. They were done within 3 hours - start to finish. The trees look wonderful, and the ivy is gone. And, yes, the ivy did turn out to be more of a job than expected and estimated. I knew that, and I asked for the additional costs. The company stood by the original qoute.
My home is not one of the fancy houses here in Southern California, but they treated it as though it was one. I am very happy with the service they provided and I will certainly use them again.

I met with a representative of the company to walk through my yard for an estimate. In addition to fertilizer for my trees, we discussed putting mulch on the slopes in my yard. I had inquired about mulch based upon information on the company website, which included an article about the benefits and a picture of what it looks like. I received an estimate that day, but followed up several days later to find out the additional costs involved to put mulch on my front yard. At that time, it seemed everything I was previously told and quoted changed. I was now told the mulch looked nothing like what was in the picture on their website. Even worse, I was now told I was responsible for purchasing all of the mulch – when not only was that not mentioned previously, how would I even know how much to purchase?

The person I met with told me the company was based out of up North, said he was in charge of the local office and admitted he should have described everything better and the original quote didn’t even include the mulch. I was very disappointed as I feel everything I was told and originally quoted was completely changed on the follow-up call. Upon further review I have now even realized that the company name and website listed on Angie’s list is different than what is noted on the original quote I received. Needless to say, I will not be using this company for their services and will continue my search.

Response from Camarillo Tree Service

"I am Charlie Saxe, the owner of Camarillo Moorpark Tree and landscape. I am a certified Arborist with 25 years of Tree and landscaping experience with HOA's, Banks, Estates and homeowners. I even owned a Nursery for five years and hold a State QAL for tree spraying and injecting. I have a local company with a office and a Yard for equipment in Camarillo and Moorpark. I have lived in Ventura County for 43 years and have never worked for Kim. Mulch is free to pick up from our yard in Camarillo and we deliver by the truckload to recycle it all over Ventura County. The article on Mulch on our website is written by our client who is a PHD in soils from an Ivy league school. Our websites are informative and you can schedule an Arborist consultation for $75. I pride our professional service and excellent positive reputation, and regret Kim, who we did not work for, was dissatisfied with a "free estimate" from our Foremen Al."

He was excellent and I liked the service very much. I think that guy who owns the company is Charles Saxe and he is an official arborist. He has done work for a lot of my neighbors. He has removed three trees for the neighbor who lives behind me. They came out right away and they cleaned up everything. They do everything very professionally. They are insured and carry all licenses, and I liked that. I liked the fact that he could fit me into his schedule within days. He pruned the tree in the correct way and did a beautiful job. There was no sap leaking out or anything. He talked to me about fertilizing trees and maintaining them. He had all the right equipment and I wasn't worried that he would drop any tree parts on my roof. Everything was cleaned up afterwards. They were very efficient.
