Permacoat painting and construction applied a Rhino Shield coating to our homes exterior and we couldnâ t be happier! Their crews were superb, high quality, professional, and very clean. This is the third paint job on the exterior family home and weâ re excited for it to be the last one we will ever need! We highly recommend permacoat painting and Rhino Shield!

If you are thinking of contracting with Permacoat Painting And Construction to paint your house, you should really think more than twice about it. Earlier this year, I hired them to paint my house, which is a single detached family dwelling of about 3000 ft.², with an extensive three tiered deck system of about 1350 ft.², constructed of expensive Brazilian hardwood. The house has a south facing wall that receives brutal sunlight, so I was looking to get a paint that would endure, and the increased reflectivity that would help keep the south side of my house a bit cooler. The result of them painting my house was a disaster. To be fair, I shouldâ ve been tipped off to the fact that this was not a reputable organization when checking their contractorâ s license for CSLB action; I discovered that it had expired, for which they gave me what was probably a totally bogus excuse, but did get it renewed. In order to meet some personal deadlines, I allowed them to start while I was away for the first couple of days that they were working, which proved to be a huge mistake. When I returned, I noticed that there was some paint on the deck, but at first didnâ t realize quite how extensive it was, partly because of all the equipment that was on the deck. There were numerous places, literally dozens, where the workers had spilled paint on the deck; the workers had not even bothered to cover the deck while they were painting, and used the deck as the staging area for their paint equipment. They tried to remove the stains, but were unable to remove the paint spills completely, leaving many spots of obvious damage. They offered, and actually paid me, for deck cleaning and treating materials as compensation, but I think it highly unlikely that the cleaning will remove the stains to bring it back to what it was before; I think that the vast majority deck will have to be sanded to bring it back to what it was before, which will reduce the lifespan of the deck, which will mean that the entire deck will have to be sanded just to maintain consistency of appearance,. The sales person who interacted with me on the project assured me that this was a fluke, that their workers were high-quality, and were always diligent about ensuring that there was no damage while they were painting, but this seems highly unlikely, given the large number of paint spills. Perhaps a professional might initially forget to cover the deck, though I consider this actually quite improbable, and accidentally spill some paint, but after the very first spill, a true professional would recognize the mistake of not covering the deck, and immediately fully cove it to avoid a subsequent spill, so I think these â professionalsâ were actually novice/apprentice painters, despite the high cost of their product.
