was with their work ethic and level of expertise that these two showed when working on the house. I was very impressed with how quickly John was able to identify the issues we had with plugs that were not operable and how quickly he fixed those issues. John and his son went through our house to insure that all electrical work was up to code and also identified potential problems. One of the best examples I can give on how astute he is in identifying potential problems was when we had to run new wiring to a new wall we had built. He ran the electricity from under the sink in our kitchen and he noticed that our garbage disposal was hard wired. He indicated that the garbage disposal should be plugged into an outlet under the sink instead of hard-wired especially if there were ever issues with replacing the disposal.
I can, without any reservations, recommend John Hall and Sons to anyone who needs electrical work. They are straight forward and honest in their dealings with their customers. They will give you options and not try to convince you that you need work that you don't really need. Their prices are very reasonable especially for the amount of work they had to perform. I have worked with a number of electricians over the years and I can say that John Hall and Sons rate at the top of my list. As an added bonus, John has a great sense of humor that made the whole process quite enjoyable.
Please call John Hall and Sons and talk to them before you decide on an electrician. You will be very happy that you did because not only because of his reasonable rates, but his level of professionalism and expertise in all aspects of electrical work.
I called another electrician on Angie's List who was too busy but referred John Hall to me. Now mind you, this was halfway through the day so I figured I'd go at least one more day without power (computer, stove, etc. ... most of my house except the TV and lights). John and his son came two hours later, troubleshooted the issues and found a junction box that had been moved (by a and quot;handymanand quot; I found on Angies List and this was not the only thing he screwed up). When he went to the original box, he found where the connection was broken and therefore affected every outlet on the circuit after it and within minutes it was done. The other electrician had been through every outlet (working and non working) and had checked another box that the same handyman had moved but apparently decided it wasn't worth it to check the last one. I spent the whole morning with the first guy (not on Angie's, don't worry) but John and Jordan had me up and running in less than half that time and I was only sorry that they had to repeat some of the same troubleshooting to get where they needed to or they probably would have finished even faster.
John was professional, explained everything in detail as he went along and was just a pleasure to have in my home. I had my entire kitchen re-done last year and used at least four vendors on Angie's List, none of whom I will use again and was going to let my subscription lapse. John Hall and Sons is not on the top of the electrician's list but he should be, he's a great guy, does great work, is honest, fast and a complete pleasure. I went through 4 plumbers that I will never use again, 2 handymen who I hope have lost my address but John Hall I will recommend to anyone and everyone I know. Angie's List should put him at the top of their list because he just singlehandedly saved you a customer who was headed for the hills.
Thank you John and Jordan Hall, what a relief to find that honesty and customer service actually is not a thing of the past in Los Angeles County.
John was referred to me by another electrician, as they were in the middle of a huge project and couldn't help me right away. (When a quality electrician refers you to another electrician, that seems like a good sign - it was.)
I called up John and we arranged for an estimate - (he went the extra mile to do it, too, after a really long day for him, because it was convenient for me.) John gave me a good price and we agreed on a date and time to do the work.
On the job date, John showed up right on time. It was a simple job, something I thought I'd do myself, but decided I would be better off letting a professional do it. Boy am I glad I did!! John not only installed the light I had bought, but he also fixed a problem in the junction box that wasn't even part of that job. It was another guy's poor workmanship, and John fixed it. Fantastic.
His work was first rate, professional, and he had a great attitude. The way I see it, excellent work + good attitude + punctual = job well done!!
"Thank You! Call me anytime, John"
