I was a little skeptical too but after all the positive reviews I decided to give them a try. I was in need of a new garage door after remodeling my garage from two single doors to one double door. I worked with John from the initial design through to the actual installation and he was very professional and communicated changes well throughout the process. They did a fantastic job on the install and the final result looks beautiful. To top it all off, their price was by far the best among the several contractors that I talked to. Highly recommended!
The spring attached to one side of our garage door had pulled out of of the wall. (We have an old, very heavy wood door.) The service person replaced the spring and braced the springs on both sides of the garage door. The work took less than an hour.
I was very impressed with the service and this company. I will be working with them to replace our very old garage door with a new, lighter one.
"ADS Co. has made every attempt to satisfy this customer. He was originally told that he needed a new door, new hardware, and a new opener, plain and simple. He was given a written proposal recommending this because the door that his contractor built was too heavy and not built to the correct specifications. The customer decided to have his contractor "rework" the door to try and lighten it up after speaking with me about the problem. After numerous attempts by the contractor, the door was still too heavy for the hardware manufacturers specifications (Holmes Hardware). The door was also built too tall for the opening and would never work correctly. I agreed to try and adjust the door & hardware as best as possible even though the customer knew that the door was still too heavy for the hardware manufacturers specs. NO GUARANTEE WAS MADE. After bending the "old" hardware (which i recommended replacing) I retrofit new cantilever arms on the hardware at the customers request. NO NEW SPECIALTY HARDWARE WAS INSTALLED as the customer claims. It failed again, as I told the customer it WOULD. As the owner of the company I am not available to go out to jobsites during the week. I made 3 weekend visits out to the jobsite (in malibu) on my own time to please the customer, not to mention the amount of times my technicians made trips out to the site. In 30+ years of business, I have never had this much trouble with a job because the customer was trying to save money by doing it his way. The $1000 he apparently spent. A lie. I have the records to prove that it was half that. If there is still any question left about my expertise in this field or my reputation among industry professionals and community members, please feel free, to contact any garage door contractor in the area about my credibility."
