This was a complex project as it was an old house that we
wanted an addition/extension of that would integrate with the existing
structure. We added a wing on the house, a master bedroom and two
additional bedrooms; one is a den/office. The existing kitchen had to
be revised for this to happen and was accomplished successfully creating
a nice indoor outdoor flow. A big challenge here was that being old
building the structure was made with old growth redwood that is not the
new standard, but 1.5 x 3? supports. The good news is that termites
won?t eat it; the bad news is that it is not standard and so the new
size of 2x4 will not match. Keith very carefully and cleverly was able
to successfully shave new supports to integrate with the old existing
studs. We created a beautiful deck and two gable ends. From the street
one would never know it was an addition. This was all done at a very
modest price, approximately under $200,000.00 for 1000 square ft.
