"What the customer failed to tell you was that the emergency shut off valve that supplies the toilet was not functional and the customer had the toilet fill valve jerry rigged with a piece of wood to keep the toilet from running,( good emergency repair). To repair the toilet the condo complex must be shut down, to install the new valve, meaning more time. As for the I-pad I was stepping in for a technician who was stuck on a job, I normally don't carry a I-pad myself as most of the larger jobs that I estimate require a sharp pencil. the i-pad price for the toilet installation is $455.51 As far as the person in the office who would not give a price for the installation, that is our company policy. If she was able to quote prices unseen, the price most likely have been too low and then we would have been accused of bait and switch. We would much rather come out for FREE and give a estimate and know that the price is correct. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you, George"
"We screwed up!, Technician was running late through the day, (kept in contact with customer) we had no one to take his place. Technician worked till 8pm and went home without calling customer. unsure what happened next?? Job shows cancelling at 9:30am next Day. I agree with "F" rating Thanks George"
"[member name removed] Sorry to take so long to reply to your review. We did send you a estimate but it looks like it bounced, meaning your email account rejected it. I don't know who's fault that is? But I will accept the responsibility, perhaps my technician typed it in incorrectly. As far as not returning calls the last call we received was August 27th the day of your appointment. If you can remember please let me know who you talked to when you called after the August 27th. I take returning calls very seriously Plumbing companies like ours live and die by returning calls. Thank You George"
Two days ago, I called this plumbing company based on the good reviews on Angie's List. I explained exactly what was needed. I was told that someone would call me back that same day, but no one did. Today I called again and a plumber was sent over within the hour..
The estimate for at most an hours work was $560 to hook up the dishwasher and approximately $200 for the plumbing permit. Now I know that the permit cost is fixed, or is it? I was told that they pulled the permit online, but don't know if the cost quoted included any addtional fee for pulling the permit. If they go to the DBI office to physically pull the permit then I understand an addtional fee; so this one I don't know.
At any rate, I was was stunned at the price! I was told that the fee was based on a job where they did all the work: removing and then reinstalling the dishwasher and their supplying new water supply lines etc. I have all these already and don't need to pay for new ones. I asked the plumber how much time it would have taken him to do remove & reinstall the dishwasher; he said 2 to 2 1/2 hours. (It took me 1/2 hour to unhook and pull out the dishwasher). So it would end up costing me $280 AN HOUR for 2 hours work or $224 AN HOUR if 2 1/2 hours work. Since I'd already done half the work; $560 for 1 hours work?? They did not even have to push the appliance back into place.
By the way, the plumber said that the company would not reduce their price based on the reduced scale of work needed. It was a total waste of my time and theirs!
I know that San Francisco is expensive, but this seems more like highway robbery! Naturally, I will not be hiring this company.
"Mr [Member name] Yes San Francisco is expensive place to live and work. We base our prices on the average time it takes to complete a task. Aall customers pay the same except for customers with service agreements who receive a additional discount. Things to consider: 1.Cost of permit is $160 we charged $40 to get the permit and meet the inspector at the job 2.If we reuse customers parts who is responsible when they fail?? That is why we opt to install new parts 3 It is never as easy as it looks 4.We are Licensed, Insured and have been in business for 36 years I wish you all the best George"
"[member name removed] I know when you have no hot water it can be a very frustrating experience, especially when the plumber does not call back in a timely manner I felt you deserved a better explanation of why I didn't return your call. First of all we are closed on Sundays except for customers with service agreements with our company. Because we are closed, we have a answering service answer the calls, If there is a emergency they will relay the call to the Plumber on call during the hours of 8am to 5 pm only. I nor my Plumber received a call from the answering service until 10 o'clock at night. When I received the call I got out of bed and called you. When I spoke to you, you asked me why I did not call? I assumed that you where a water heater warranty customer who was told by the manufacturer that the plumber would call (Mon -Sat 8am - 5pm) We receive those work order by email that is why I responded with "I didn't receive your work-order" I have since reviewed procedures with the answering service to help prevent this from happening again. I know this did not help you in your hour of need and I apologize and wish you all the best in the future Thanks George"
