Greener Fitting

Major improvement in energy efficiency. Both electricity and gas bills have gone down significantly. House is quieter, more comfortable and much prettier with the new stucco and paint. Jerome and Victoria Espinoza run the business, and we got the information on their company through the Energy Upgrade California site, recommended to us by someone in building permits for the city of Monrovia. That website, https://energyupgradeca.org/county/los_angeles/overview , was an excellent way to find out about energy-efficiency, and locate the kind of contractors who have the necessary licenses to do the job right. Both Jerome and Victoria were very smart, were able to explain the latest techniques in greener technology to us, yet were able to give us a more reasonable price than some of the other contractors we called for the job. They all seemed very smart, yet some of them seemed to want you to create the most perfect environmentally-friendly home, even though you can't afford it. When the house was inspected for the rebates that come from the utilities companies, at first we were told that it qualified for the 35% improvement, which meant a $3500 rebate. But Jerome and Victoria appealed to them that the numbers showed an improvement of 40%, and they won the appeal, so we received a check for $4000 rebate in early December.
My only complaints are that they told us originally that it would take around 3-4 weeks, but in fact it took 9-10 weeks. Our house was old and problematic, difficult to remove the old wiring and even harder to drill the holes in the walls for the wall insulation, so I understand some of the delays, but I still think we could have gotten a more realistic estimate of the time it would require. Also, some of the light fixtures that were removed to do the new stucco coat were not re-installed with all the right screws or bolts, which we didn't realize until long after the Greener Fitting crew was gone. Their workers are polite and helpful, though, and even though it's a hassle to have so much work done to your home, they were pleasant to have around.

We decided to look into doing an energy upgrade when our electric bill kept increasing every month, even on the SCE level pay plan. We met with several of the approved contractors in the Energy Upgrade California program. We liked the people from Greener Fitting best. Jerome, Victoria, Richard, and all the other people who worked on this project were professional. They showed up when they said they would. They completed each phase and kept us in the loop as to what would happen next.
When the job was over, they went over and above testing their work to make sure we came in saving as much energy as possible in our home built in 1954.
Best experience to date with contractors we had never used before. This is a five star company.
