When I first called Glenn, he was really responsive and knowledgable about the kind of work I needed to get done to the house. He seemed like a good person I can trust and took a look at the house. I had some questions regarding the estimate and there was some delay in getting back to me but overall it was a satisfactory experience. When I went to visit the property to check out the work I noticed one of the four beams was bowed and the painting job was POOR. I had to email Glenn photos and notes of all the problem areas with the job. He was apologetic and wanted to make sure I was fully satisfied, but when I visited the house again the areas were not addressed very well. The painter he hired was horrible. I had to take down the wood pieces to try and help the bowed wood myself after 5 weeks when he should've come out and done it himself. It's still bent.

I spent about $17500 on that work. I liked the fact that they communicated everything that was going on. They were there when they said they would do, did what they said they would do and did a good job. I got other bids and I thought the price was fair. They were recommended to me and they were fine and very professional. There were a couple of small irregularities and they just took care of it and did not say that it was going to cost more money.

wife's opinion: 1) Glenn is super nice 2) He made us feel like we were always right and on the same team 3) He is able to work with all types of difficult people (my husband and me!) 4) He is honest and has integrity 5) He finished the project ON TIME!! this was a whole house remodel - down to the old foundation - and he finished it within the year time-frame - amazing! 6) a year later and he still comes by when we find something that wasn't quite right. 7) can't believe we got so lucky with him and can't recommend him highly enough - really!!

We had heard enough contractor horror stories to make us really wary of starting this job. Glenn Chavez had done a similar addition job around the corner, and we got his name and number from those neighbors. Glenn came in, looked at the plans and the situation, and gave us an estimate that was less than we were expecting. When it came time to start work, we had his full attention, and he was always easy to reach. The great thing about him was that he was immensely practical, and with his years of experience was able to make suggestions that actually improved on the architect's design. An especially big deal was the new connection to the sewer system. Our architect didn't think we had sufficient drop, and thought we'd need to dig into the street--a job that was estimated at nearly $20,000. Glenn did the calculations and said he thought we had enough drop to connect to our existing pipeline--and it turned out that we did! At all times, the subcontractors he used were first rate, honest and principled, and they did excellent work. A particularly good job was done by the crew that laid our new flagstone patio and installed a ledgerstone accent to the side of the house. They were true artists, and the outcome was superb. The job was finished on schedule, on budget, and we've been extremely happy with it ever since.
