Todd and three of his installers arrived at 7:30 per our appointment. The crew went straight to work protecting the floors that they would be transiting to get to the area that was going to be redone. They carefully removed the old tile and carpet, removed the toilet and placed it in a safe place. They were careful about dust and debris removing it. They then scraped the floor to remove all the old adhesives and made sure it was level. They installed hardibacker by gluing and nailing it down. Nails every 6 inches. That is not going anywhere.
They then set about laying out and cutting all the tile to fit. I took a lot of skill because the bathroom area is a very complex shape with three doorways to account for. Once everything was laid out they then started laying it with thin set. They worked at this until a little after 5:30. They cleaned up their work space and left for the day.
Next day they arrived promptly at 7. Did all the clean up work and grouted. It took about 3 hours.
I was most impressed with how hard and efficiently the crew worked. They wanted to make sure that the job was done right the first time. Very impressive group.
If I have any more tile work to do, I would hire them in a second!
