Sweep For Hire

Went well. Will is clearly skilled and knowledgeable, full of good information, and personable. He did a thorough inspection, found no issues, and indicated a cleaning was not needed, though of course he could have done it anyway and charged me more. Without a cleaning he charged me a reasonable lower fee. I will definitely call him back next time.

Done professionally and on time. Will continue to use for chimney cleaning.

Hopefully it was successful. We will see when it starts to rain again this winter.

Excellent and I learned so much about my stove it was very valuable.

Will showed up on time, got the job done and explained everything he did. We had to wait 24 hours before we could have a fire, we had our first fire last night! I am so happy, wish I called him sooner. The price was very reasonable. If you need your fireplace cleaned or repaired, call Will, he's great!

For the past three years, Will Morris, owner and operator of "Sweep For Hire," has come to my residence once a year to inspect the chimney and fireplace.  Yesterday, he cleaned the chimney and reconverted the fireplace from wood burning back to gas.  Will was right on time, and though he said the job might require as much as three hours, he did it in less than two. As in previous years, there was no mess either inside or out, and Will had all the necessary equipment to do a complete and thorough job.  As always, Will's service was professional, courteous, friendly, efficient, organized and reasonably priced.  I highly recommend him to anyone in the North Bay who needs any kind of inspection, cleaning or conversion done on their chimney or fireplace.

I reached out to Sweep for Hire and made an appointment for one week later that I ultimately had to change.  Will was very flexible and was accommodating to the schedule change.  On the agreed date, Will arrived on time and was prepared to work.  Will conducted a thorough inspection of the firebox and chimney.  He was careful to keep the house clean around the dirty work to be done.  It was clear that Will was an expert in his field and as he worked, he educated me about the fireplace and how the air flow through the house and chimney worked.  In addition to the inspection in the house, he climbed up on the roof and inspected the spark-arrestor and chimney from the top.  Because I have a two-story house, there was an additional charge of $20.  Will had mentioned this charge when I made the appointment on the phone and he reminded me when he arrived.  Will was up front with all the charges and there were no surprises.  I couldn't have been more pleased with his service or his professionalism.

This was the second time that Will has inspected my chimney, though it?s a different house this time around.  And ? it went great again.  Will is professional, very knowledgable about fireplaces and chimneys, expert at what he does, and also accommodating, friendly, reliable and responsible.  I mean, really, what more can you ask for?  Instead of just a chimney sweep, his business card should say something like, ?Fireplace & Chimney Care Specialist.?  I would recommend him to anyone who has any kind of problem with their fireplace or chimney, as well as anyone simply needing and inspection or conversion from gas to fire, or vice versa.  In short, Will?s the best!

Will is quite busy so took about 3 weeks to schedule an appointment. He arrived on schedule and spent over 2 hours on the job. He removed large quantities of creosote. He is very knowledgable and gave a written summery of the work performed and condition of the fireplace. The house was spotless when he left.

We estimated our rental property's  chimney had not been clean for the past 10 years. Will, from Sweep For Hire gave us a scheduled time of 1 pm. But after waiting for about 1:20, we called his cell phone and he apologized for his tardiness because the previous job took a  little longer than expected. He arrived 20 minutes later and did a complete inspection of the chimney prior to cleaning. He also found the spark arrestor was missing and  he later located it among some bushes along side the house. He even asked me if I wanted to climb up on the roof and inspect why the original arrestor  did not fit the flue properly and had blown off some time ago. He had a new one with him in his truck and installed it immediately. When he finished the cleaning, Will reviewed the results with us and gave us some suggestions to enhance the chimney and fireplace effectiveness. We were very impressed.

It went great.  Will is a friendly and very professional.  He really knows his stuff.  He checked out the fireplace, climbed up on the roof, informed me about lots of things I didn't know about my fireplace and chimney, and basically did a great job.  And after all that, he ended up charging me less than we had agreed to over the phone.  Will Morris is probably the best person in this area for taking care of chimneys.  Thanks to Will, I feel safe and ready to enjoy my fireplace for the winter.

Sweep for Hire is a private business owned and operated by Will Morse. He has decades of experience and a highly educated background in renewable energy and appropriate technology. He has a passion for his job and performs his sweeps and inspections thoroughly and with great explanation. He can also do fireplace/firebox/chimney repairs or replacements and installs of fireplace inserts or wood burning stoves. I expect to contact him in the future for the install of a wood burning stove and I have no reason to shop around with any other providers.

He doesn't charge me for things that don't need to be done and is reliable.
