overfeed some of the animals, took way to much time to complete tasks, coworker was more interested in trying to persuade us to see his our views about a current subject at the time, than the welfare of the animals
Response from Teri Burgess, Pet Nanny
"I am sorry this customer was unhappy with my pet sitting service. The job was labor intensive and after the 3 day weekend I was hired for , I realized that it was taking up too much time and I wouldn't be able to accommodate my other pet sitting customers and get my grooming salon open on time. I regretfully gave her my notice that I wouldn't be able to work any more jobs for her. My coworker and I arrived to meet with this customer at her home at the agreed time and we did talk about a variety of subjects but never was the welfare of the animals that were to be in my care ignored or made to be unimportant. If she felt that way, I have to ask the question why would you hire me? The job was a small farm/rescue center which cared for over a 150 rabbits, 8 cats, 2 goats, chickens, a turtle and an aquarium of fish. The rabbits were in two different areas, one for the sick and a very large barn that housed the healthy rabbits. The barn was air cooled during this particularly hot weekend weather. My main concern was to make sure all the animals were fed and well hydrated in the event of a power outage, which was common in this housing development. The two visits per day took two of us 3 to 4 hours each time to take care of all the animals and the job was a flat rate, not hourly. If I overfed anyone, I apologize as it was my first time and it was a lot to absorb. At this time I would like to point out that all the animals were fine and content when I was finished with the job. I believe the real reason for this customer's discontent though was that the family looked forward to a break from the responsibility of so many little lives and a much needed vacation. I'm sure they feel that I let them down, and for that, I am sorry."

As usual, Terri performed an exemplary job. She keeps an eye on their cysts (a problem with Schnauzers) and their ears for possible infections. You can tell that she loves the animals she cares for. She has groomed my dogs for the past two years and will continue to be my groomer for as long as she is in business. I highly recommend her.

"It was a pleasure working with [member name removed] and her Schnauzers over the years. I miss them a lot as they have moved to a new location. Jake and Charlie, I send big hugs and scratches your way and lots of hugs for [member name removed]. God Bless!"
