Mark did a great job with vintage Sub Zero fridge, knows his stuff. Expensive to replace but a lot less than a new built in...

I called Mike last nigt after 6p as I'd just spotted a small amount of water under the fridge,  He was able to stop by this morning to sort out the problem ~ the drain line was not draining properly as it was constricted with general "crud" after so many, many years.  He pointed out a couple of other items which I should keep my eye on as they will need attention soon.  Much appreciated!

When something breaks in my house, I have a panic-stricken
moment.  I do not know what company to pick I can trust in the order
not to be ripped off. When your refrigerator stops working, you don't have time
to panic. I learned this the hard way the first time my Sub-Zero fridge blew
and I did not call ACME Refrigerator repair company. It is hard to find a
right company looking at dozens of reviews and stars. The key to keeping
the costs low in these situations is how quickly you can get someone to have it
fixed, so you can minimize the loss of food, ice purchases, and eventual
desperate state of needing ice cube because the heat is 100. When my freezer
thermostat jumped to 35 degrees on a Sunday night at 10pm, I accepted the fate of my spoiled food
until I turned to yelp. Because of the positive reviews, I left Mark a message
at 10:30pm, and I was
pleasantly surprised when he returned my call at 8:00am the following morning. This guy is
awesome, he has a very kind presence. He was at my place within 1.5 hours,
dissembled the starter on my fridge, identified and explained to me
the problem, walked out to his van where he had the part, installed it, charged
me a very fair price and was gone before my meat had even thawed. Great
service, no panic!

Mark called 20 minutes before arriving.  He evaluated the problem and advised that the ice maker unit needed to be replaced.  I was very happy he had all the parts available and was able to complete the job the same day.  He also cleaned the motor area and noted that the filter had not been changed in years.  The original installer did not put a water shut off on the filter line.  He installed a shutoff valve so the filter can be changed easily in the future.  He also offers a warranty on all parts and services.
I will definitely use this provider again.

Mark the technician has delivered an amazing job in fixing our 15 y/o fridge. He was the only one to come through for other companies said they were too busy to help us with our problem.
Mark came an hour later since my call and as soon as he arrived he immediately went to my fridge to identify the problem. Turns out there’s a part that needs to be replaced. He told me that he needs to come back the next day for the replacement part since it was too late in the afternoon already but he assured me that he could provide a temporary fix so that our fridge would still work for that night.
Very honest guy both in providing diagnosis and pricing his work. I hope I won’t need to call Mark again but if ever I need his help, I can always call them to send him again.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

They contacted us two days later with no apology nor explanation. Needless to say, when we didn't hear from them the day we called, we contacted the SUBZERO manufacturer (not to be confused with this company who is NOT an authorized repair service for SUBZERO refrigerators). The manufacturer directed us to their SUBZERO factory authorized repair people. The SUBZERO factory authorized repair people came the very next day. So it turned out well for us because of this company's terrible response time and lack of respect. I firmly believe that when a company treats you this way, you will be treated this way from start to finish.

I called on a Monday, but they said Tuesday morning was the earliest they could
schedule. From my experience - other companies would charge me multiple times
because they had to ORDER the parts or go back and pick something up they didn't
bring, anyway to run the bill up. The Tech Dennis showed up exactly as promised within the 2 hour window,
quickly identified a bad part and replaced it in minutes. He said if this
wasn't the problem, they would NOT charge me for the repair, and move on to the
next logical suspected part. Luckily, the first part was the problem, replaced
and recharged the system, and then thoroughly checked the unit out for proper
cooling.
I was VERY impressed, and I'm not usually impressed by repair techs, as many of
them smell from smoking, dirty uniforms and barely knowledgeable on my specific
product (Yeah, I once seen one of these a few years back).....but the tech they
sent was polite, clean and most important, knowledgeable of my 11 year old Sub
Zero.
Great service. Appliance genius.Couldn't be more satisfied.

Mark was a wealth of knowledge with Sub Zero appliances and the reason I
chose this company in the first place. He also had a vast knowledge of
Viking and many other appliance brands. I was lucky to have him when I
did otherwise I would have not been able to save my beloved Sub Zero
fridge!
I was given an 8 Yr warranty and will receive 6 month reminders for check ups on my unit (its 15 yrs old)
I appreciate this as Ive neglected it for more than a decade having never serviced it once.
I was grateful we could bring the unit to "like new" condition for only $1500.
Their pricing was very fair and their service was prompt
. I searched for several refridgeration places before choosing them, it was important to me that they specialized in Sub Zero and I wanted that piece of mind. Sub Zeros are expensive and I didn't want just anyone working on it.
Thank you Mark !!

My Sub Zero refrigerator was not working. The refrigerator and freezer were both about 50 degrees. I decided to see how much it would cost to repair the refrigerator vs. buying a new one, which I knew would be very expensive. I first went on the Internet and checked out Sub Zero repair companies in my area. I found ACME to have the most comprehensive Website. Then, I went to Angie's list to read reviews from members who had used this company before. The reviews were very good; so I decided to give ACME a call.

My first contact with ACME Refrigerator Repair via telephone was not particularly good. The contact answered with a "Hello"; and I had to ask if I had contacted ACME Refrigeration company. Then, I was disconnected.

Against my better judgment, I called back, and I'm very glad that I did. ACME turned out to be a wonderful company. The repairman (Gary) appeared at my door exactly on time. He checked out the problem and diagnosed it after a number of tests. I could tell he was doing a very thorough job. He gave me several options about how to fix the problem, each time focusing on what would save me the most money and yet get the job done. I realize that Sub Zero parts are quite expensive, but I felt the estimate for work to be done was reasonable. Gary really seemed to know his business, and I was confident that he was recommending the best action for me.

He came back a couple of times to make adjustments and to check that there were no leaks in the system. He was always on time and prompt.

Now, my refrigerator looks great and works perfectly. A new refrigerator would have cost over $9,000; so I saved a lot of money by having it repaired. I would definitely recommend ACME and Gary to my friends. He did a great job.

P.S. I did recommend Gary to some friends, and they were very happy with his work.

Showed up on time. Mark had gotten from me on my first call the model and Serial number. He had the parts. He worked about 2 1/2 hours to get the Job done. Subzeros are expensive to buy and the parts are costly too.

Our Sub Zero freezer decided to stop making ice a few weeks back. The water part of the ice maker was working just fine. The freezer itself was ice cold. Just seemd to not want to make ice. After some hand wringing, I searched out a decent place nearby and happened across Angieslist reviews of ACME's Appliance Repair. Could not have been happier. Mark called me back and was friendly and knowledgable without being pushy. Set up an appointment and thought that was that. We were supposed to have a new dishwasher installed. When the installers arrived, they told us that they couldn't do the job since out countertops were too low (something about insurance, but who the heck knows). So thinking we would be SOL, we cancelled the order. That afternoon I decided to call Mark and ask if he could maybe look at our old Viking dishwasher to see if it was able to be fixed. Sure enough, when he arrived the next day to fix the ice maker, he took one look at the dishwasher and told us that it would be no problem to just replace the motor and inside parts (costing us significantly less than getting a new dishwasher). Price was perfect and he came by that Monday to fix. In and out in less than half an hour. After running a couple loads, the dishwasher is quietly purring like a sleepy kitten.
Awesome work. Friendly service. Great business. Couldn't have asked for much more. Will definitely use these guys again. And ask for Mark when you call! Thanks!

I called ACME Company and left a message. Twenty minutes later, I received a call and was told a repairman (Garry) was on his way. Within an hour the technician had my fridge out from the wall. Within 90 minutes, the faulty motherboard (a well-known weak link in this model as I came to find out) was repaired and he was on his way out. The service call fee was $65 and the speed at which the problem was corrected was incredible. I was amazed, it was a Saturday afternoon. It had only been three hours since I discovered the problem and now it was fixed. When I called to request service in the middle of the weekend I expected everything but honesty, quality service and affordability but the technician who answered the phone (I believe his name was Mark) was very knowledgeable as he gave me a very close estimate as well as several tips on how to maintain my unit to prevent future breakdowns. I truly appreciated the advice that went far beyond standard customer service. Thank you for everything ACME!

They did not complete the work. They said it needed more work and they would come back. It felt they only wanted to make another call and charge us more.

I have been trying to get this fridge repaired for 5 years and Alexis was the first service person to actually achieve it. He came to me through Lerner Electric and was touted as their go to guy for Sub Zero repairs. There was some misses on his coming to the house but when he did he spent over 5 hours working the problem until he/I got it to his/my satisfaction. It was expensive but at least I'm no longer wasting food as I was. Recommend highly, but nail down the appointment time and hold him to it.

"We check our customer data base - look like we never did repair of any appliances on this customer address. I guess it is some mistake made by customer. We don't have technician with name Alexis. May be it was a different company. Thanks for reading! Mark"

Overall: - They give you a 2-hour window (not that "we'll be there somewhere between 9 - 5pm" crap) - Mark was very friendly, personable, and very knowledgeable - They offer a 6 month warranty on labor (and 5-year warranty on the water valve and ice maker) - Labor rates are very good

My friend Sharon recommend this company. Our Wolf stove start acting up before hollydays.Repairman was on time within the 9 to 11 time that was provided to me by the customer service rep. They gave me expectations very clearly and were very honest about the outcome and what it might be. Unfortunately they weren't sure what was wrong they could only give me a pretty sure findings because of the fact that my Wolf oven didn't show the problem that I keep having. I liked the fact that I didn't feel like they were trying to charge me as much as possible. They were very honest about the fact that they weren't 100% certain this was the problem but that that they were pretty sure and they could repair it and see. Pricing was very clear and it didn't cost me a dime over what they told me it was going to cost. They gave me senior discount.I would use their services again for my appliances needs. Thank you!
