Bathroom-Before starting the bathroom, Larry and I shopped for fixtures, faucets, hardware, shower doors, granite, sink, tile so that everything was selected and purchased before the job began.. Larry always lets you know the schedule ahead of time . The demolition of the bathroom and hall area took place on the scheduled day. The plumber and electrician came on the scheduled days. the framing of a stall shower was next. The cabinet was put in place, the shower area and floor was tiled, the frameless glass doors and mirrors were installed. Last, but not least, the bathroom was painted. Larry Glatt is on sight to speak to the workmen and craftsmen at the start of each day and stops by later in the day to see how the work is progressing and to see if there is a need to make adjustments. I was pleased with all the workman and craftsmen. the plumber, the electrician, the cabinet maker, the granite designer and installer the tile people were all professional, and did excellent work. They protected the nearby areas with drop cloths and plastic coverings cleaned up at the end of each work day. The bathroom took longer than expected because Larry Glatt and I mutually agreed on some changes along the way. When the bathroom remodel was completed, I was more than pleased. Larry Glatt's design and asked him if he would design and handle the remodel of the rest of my unit. It was my choice to wait several months before getting started on the next phase.
Kitchen-Larry and I selected granite for the counter tops, tile for the floor new sink, door handles, The cabinet maker measured the doors on all cabinets for refacing. We chose a cherry wood finish. The electrician came to install recessed lights, the granite installer came to measure the counter tops. Larry set the schedule and the workmen showed up when they were supposed to .The refaced time to make the new doors was estimated for 3 weeks, but took another week. The plumber installed the sink, dishwasher, and disposal. Larry is a perfectionist and wants everything to be just right and so once again. He was there to supervise the work, placement of light fixtures, electrical outlets, etc.
Livingroom/dining area- Larry designed the combination area. Some existing furniture and some new pieces were to be incorporated into the design. The electrician installed recessed lighting. the carpenter installed base boards and crown molding. Painted the combo area. New carpeting was installed. Larry designed a wall unit which took much longer to come back from the cabinet maker due to circumstances beyond our control. Larry handled the issue and I did not have to worry about a thing. When the wall unit was installed it was magnificent. The installation went with out a glitch. Final item was the window treatments. Larry made suggestions and I made a choice based on his recommendation. Larry helped me select new furniture, placed it in the rooms. Hung all my pictures.
Larry is both a contractor, and interior designer. This was a tremendous advantage. For my first experience in remodeling I consider myself very lucky to have worked with Larry. He did all the worrying for me. If I wasn't happy with something he would say and quot; no problemand quot; I have some out of the reach light fixtures and if I call him he will come by and change them. Now that's service!
