I contracted with Jesse to replace the deck boards, stairway boards, and railings for my 10' x 40' second story deck. Eventually all was replaced, though timeframe wasn't as stated. Unfortunately, Jesse provided extremely incorrect information regarding the lumber. The lumber installed was KDAT (kiln dried after treatment). Jesse told me it was good to go for about two years after installation and would not need sealing/staining. So not true. I contacted the manufacturer, "the contractor should not have left the site without applying sealer, or assuring the homeowner would apply sealer immediately". I now have a deck that one year later, looks as bad as the 20 year old deck it replaced. Jesse came out on my request to look at the deck. He said his partner would be out the next week to do sanding. That was more than two months ago. I've had no response to text or telephone messages since then. I am so disappointed. $10,000 is a lot of money to spend for a product that does not meet my expectations because J&J Northwoods didn't know the product they installed. And on top of the above, a number of the balusters periodically disengage from the railings. Uffdah!
