Our history is parallel with another customer's on Angie's list.  Lisa (who is no longer with the company) was an excellent person to work with.  Isaac is absolutely dependable and does meticulous work.  Other workers have been generally OK, but on one job I needed to call attention to gaps in caulking in several places.  Again as in the other report, a wrong window was ordered and we had to wait months to have it replaced (at no cost).  I have learned to be careful in dealings with the owner.  It  took proving to convince him that his office ordered the wrong window.  In another case we had some warm words about the replacement screen door.  In balance he is willing to do the right thing, but customer relations are not his forte (in my opinion). Currently we are in discussion about a leak around one of the windows.  To his credit he has sent a man out twice to recaulk.  This summer I will have stucco broken out around the window so see if the leak comes down from above or is in the window itself.

Still if I had more work to be down I would use this company but only if I could be certain that Isaac would be in charge.

They said it was a two to three day job. It is not yet finished. This is day 176, and I am tired of calling them. Things keep going wrong and it's hard to say who's to blame. The doors came and were installed. It took the installer hours to do the installation and he found out the holes were in the wrong place, so he had to reoder the doors. Then the doors were too short, so they reordered them again. They finished July 17th. July 30th, the painter started and discovered a crack on top of one of the doors that was about seven and a half inches long and went all the way through the door, so they were going to get me a new door. They came with the new door on August 25th. It ended up being the wrong door. It should have been the passive door, but it was the active door. Lisa, the estimator, said she would order a new one and told me that it would be in within two to three weeks and the work would be finished. I have not heard anything since.

We contracted to have the final five windows replaced after the work on the first nine was completed and paid for. We were generally very happy with the work although there were a several problems along the way. The salesperson Lisa followed the work from start to finish and addressed all of of the problems that arose quickly and fairly. Example: V&W installed one window (which had been ordered by mistake) free of charge, for the cost of the window hardware only. Two of the three workers who performed the actual installation were excellent (Isaac and Sam) but the first one who came was not satisfactory. Most of work was performed by Isaac at our request. This delayed the completion of the work by some weeks but was well worth the wait. The nominal delivery time of windows (custom built by Marvin) was 6-8 weeks but the second phase of our work took nearly 3 months from the date of our order to completion.

OK, except communication from V&W was lacking.

Product description, sales, estimating, design advice, contracting, scheduling and most of installation went very well. Lisa at V&W knows her stuff! Installation is by a contractor hired by V&W. Due to lack of clear communication between V&W and installation contactor, there were a few hang ups causing short delay in completion of work. V&W rep. was hard to reach during installation and was not on site.

V&W Doors, and Windows came to measure the windows in my house, and my slider door. When the windows were ready they came back to install them. The windows were made to fit, they were good quality double pane windows, and looked great. We had a small problem but the company came right out to fix the problem. They provided professional, punctual, workers to install the windows and door, and we were very pleased with the service, and the price.
