Model Garage is the best. They are polite, fast and yet still take the time to explain what is going on and what choices you have. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Needs further repair for oil leak.

Fantastic. Amazing.  I am a new client (for a 2005 XC Volvo).  I called Model Garage in a panic on a Monday morning
for help re my engine light on and scary potential of my car dying on the freeway
(twice on 580 driving at 70 mph - it semed that there was not enough gas flowing to engine and the car
simply paused as if it was going to shut down).  Bruce said bring it in, no guarantee
they could fix it this day as they were super busy but would definitely look at it next
day.  2 hours later Bruce called to say they think they have isolated the problem, 
replaced fuel pump and I could pick up early afternoon!  They are definitely my new go-to Volvo
service providers!

, aThe work was done quickly, efficiently, and well. I've been taking my Prius to them for servicing for more than two years, and I am very pleased with their work. The work has always been done on time, and it always has been done well -- I have never had a problem resulting from their work. They carefully explain beforehand what they plan to do, and after they've done the work they go over exactly what they did. The cost is reasonable. I am very impressed with them. I recommend them highly, and I will certainly continue to use them to service and repair my cars.

Honest, competent, trustworthy. I would not go to any other shop. Their prices are not low; everything else is great.

I've been taking my car to Model Garage in Berkeley, CA since I purchased the car. I am always pleased with my experience, I trust everyone that works there, and my car is in great shape after almost 19 years on the road. I can't recommend them highly enough.

It was probably 4 months ago. I do not know because they are bit wholly to take our car in. They are really reliable. They provide all kinds of services for our Toyota cars. They do great service, I trust them, and they are very honest, always good to finishing and give us good items. I never had a problem with them. I will give them an A for everything too.

This service went fine, as usual. More importantly, it was a minor use of Model Garage's services for us. They work only on Volvo and Toyota products (including Lexus and Scion). We have owned both. We have used Model Garage for over 15 years. They are totally honest, fair and we have never had a problem with or been disappointed by their work. Unless an issue must be addressed by a dealer, we always use Model Garage rather than a dealer. They cost less, do higher quality work, and one never feels that they are being less than honest, ginning up unnecessary work, or padding bills even when it means less work or revenue for them. They are, and have always been, in the business for the long haul, and to build long term relationships with customers.
On a number of occasions over the years I have called Model Garage for general service advice, including when I have had auto problems on the road, and advice about buying or selling brands that they work on. They take the time to answer questions and to give honest advice grounded in decades of experience.
We have purposely limited car purchases to brands that Model Garage works on in order to continue to be able to use them.

My car was overdue for its 100k maintenance.  I had not had the best experience with the local dealership.  I searched here on Angie's List and found Model Garage.  From my first call it was clear that these folks were the real deal. Scheduling was easy and communication was very clear.  When it came to take the car into the shop, they were prompt and courteous.  They called me midway through the service to give me an update on their progress.  The work was completed as scheduled and my trusty car is back on the road.
When all was said and done, I had a perfect service experience.  They were professional prompt, courteous, and reasonably priced.  You could not ask for a better car repair experience.

Work was done well and on time. When I brought the car in, they took time to talk to me about what they were going to do. They completed it promptly, called to let me know it was ready, and took the time to talk to me about my car when I picked it up. All in all, a very good experience. Their charge for labor is fair; their prices for parts are good.

They do not try to do things that are not necessary. They are very honest. They listen to their customers and provide great customer service. I trust them. They are very friendly as well.

I have been using this garage for 10 years. I'd say they're very professional, very responsive, and very ethical. I'm satisfied with all aspects of their services.

Another company informed me that I had to replace brakes and rotors front and rear. I took the car to The Model Garage for a second opinion. They took all 4 wheels off on the spot and told me what I needed, eliminating work I did not need. They were alert and on top of the situation. Most important, they did not charge a diagnostic fee. I have paid hundreds of dollars in diagnostic fees to Bob's Volvo since buying this car second-hand nearly two years ago and began to feel cheated there. The Model Garage does not do that. My neighbor has been going to The Model Garage for years with his Volvo's and has never felt cheated. At Model, there are old pictures on the walls, some of them very funny, tracing the history of the business and charting the owners' changes. The feel of the place and the staff is much like another company in Cambridge, MA, the garage run by the guys who do car talk on the radio. It's a great relief to be one of The Model Garage's customers!

They have done a lot of things for us. My car is 20 years old and still running. They take care of my car. They are very nice.

They are honest and reliable. They are not cheap, but they always do good work and keep their word. When problems come up, they are open to discussing the symptoms and the possibilities, and have been good at avoiding surprises. Oh! They only work on Volvos and Toyotas.

THEY WORK ONLY ON VOLVOS AND TOYOTAS. THEY ARE FRIENDLY, HONEST, HIGHLY COMPETENT, AND HAVE A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR. THEY DO ONLY THE WORK NEEDED, AND TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE AGE OF THE CAR AS WELL AS THE NEEDS OF THE CUSTOMER WHEN EVALUATING REPAIRS.
