About us
Steven Tappan, owner of Tappan Builders, has worked in residential construction for more than 30 years. In 1991, he founded his own company to best serve the needs of clients in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2005, Tappan Builders expanded its services into the Santa Barbara area. Tappan Builders focuses on residential home construction and fine home renovation. In addition, we have extensive experience working with insurance companies to obtain settlements after such accidents as a home fire or flood. As Certified Green Builders, we encourage clients to adopt green practices, technologies and materials whenever practicable. We have earned our reputation for delivering quality projects with excellent workmanship. The Tappan team enjoys working directly with homeowners at all stages of the job—from developing a construction budget to choosing building materials and selecting specific flooring, countertops, lighting fixtures and other finish products. We have learned that such a comprehensive and personalized approach is key to ensuring a positive home building experience. We handle only a select number of projects at a given time, so your project is always at the top of our list.
