He started on time and proceeded rapidly. He seemed as though he was in a harry to move on to his next job. He did a very poor job on wiring and plumbing the double sinks. He knows how to do plumbing and wiring, but chose to take the easy way out instead of doing it properly. He charged double of what the original estimate was, although we did make some changes that took a little more time. Hrrrrris finish work was very poor. He was in such a hurry to move on that his workmanship was very sloppy and unfinished.

It's been a while since the first project, but I remember its overall features. I designed the bathroom myself, and Jim contributed lots of good ideas while being remarkably patient with my sometimes slow decision-making process. The project was quite complicated and took several months (particularly because there was another builder involved, doing the cabinets), but the result was totally worth it. Before beginning any work in the room itself, Jim did extensive work on the substructures that would support the new glass-block wall, etc., and made it all strong and secure, then built up from there. In the smaller bathroom, the work went much quicker, just a couple of weeks, if I remember correctly, as it was much less complicated. In both cases Jim was a pleasure to have around, unfailingly polite and good-natured, and did beautiful work for a very good price.
