We have provided high quality Japanese hand tools for close to thirty years. We belive in the beauty of crafting something by hand and therefore do not carry power tools. We do, however, sell drill bits for your hand or electric powered drills.

Description of Work: Purchased Japanese woodworking tools for my nephew. Arranged to have knives sharpened for my sister. I have purchased tools from Hida Tool many times over the years, both in person and over the telephone. I have always been pleased with the quality of the tools and with the service provided by the staff. I would highly recommend Hida Tool.

These folks love sharp things. If it has an edge and is exotic they'll swoon an fawn over it. The shop is filled with sharp things, and, for no apparent reason, drawer pulls. It's all from Japan. All good quality. Their sharpening service is limited in dates, and they limit the number of tools taken in, all though in the spirit of meeting commitments. No rush jobs here.
Description of Work: Sharpening... just about anything worth sharpening. In our case kitchen knives.

They require 48 hours for sharpening knives. I dropped mine off on a Thursday and it was finished when I returned on Saturday. The knife has been restored to being very sharp and is once again my favorite tool for slicing up veggies in my kitchen. The people were nice and the shop has many interesting Japanese products for working around the house and yard.
Description of Work: Sharpened my 7" Santoku kitchen knife.
