So many other companies say they understand hydronic systems, think they do, but they really don't. I'm very glad I used L.J. Kruse. They really know what they are doing. Shawn the manager/estimator, and Bill the technician, both did a great job helping me with this repair. I recommend highly.

We are very pleased with our new Fujitsu ductless mini-split system, and especially its installation by the reputable L.J. Kruse Company.  This "heat pump" based system, recommended by L.J. Kruse to replace our ancient small office HVAC system, sounded like magic at first. How could it extract heat from cold air, and vice versa?  But it does!  The cost of upgrading our old system, especially the thinly insulated, leaky duct work would have been cost prohibitive. L.J. Kruse did a great job installing this quiet, cost effective, energy efficient system. They weren't the bottom-feeding cheapest bid we received, but were surprisingly cost competitive.  For a very few extra bucks, I got experienced, highly skilled craftspeople with lots of integrity.  No contractor shortcuts trying to squeeze out a few extra bucks on the job. For the longevity of the system and my peace of mind, L.J. Kruse was absolutely the best call to install this terrific, magical Fujitsu system.

They said the kind of toilet I had had been known to be defective. The toilet was very expensive and I just took what they had and I didn't shop around. I have seen cheaper toilets. I think the toilet was around $700 not including the work they did. I might use them again depending on what the job was.

Plumber sent did not know what he was looking at. Thought this was an indirect water heater! Charged 3 hours labor, left all rags and garbage behind, did not give accurate estimate of charges prior to starting job. Did not comprehend how to flush system. Never again!

Overall, the work got done by Kruse Plumbing to the satisfaction of the building inspectors, we got a permit and sold the property. The repair people kept several appointments, were efficient and on time. The dispatcher at the home office was very nice to work with. I do not blame these individuals. But the management of the company is clearly at fault in customer relations and work-related issues. That the owner of the L.J. Kruse Company could not even take the time to answer our letters or telephone us at our request is unforgiveable. Most of our dealings with L. J. Kruse Company were highly unsatisfactory.

They know us and schedule us promptly. They are responsive and get to us rather quickly. they are reliable. The quality of work is for the most part outstanding. If something is not right they make it right. They send us the best people.

We contacted this company to diagnose and repair our four year old tankless hot water heater. [Note: This unit has a computerized self-diagnosis chip in the unit which provides information on malfunctions to repairmen and we provided them with a copy of the owner's manual with information on troubleshooting.] They sent one plumber and one trainee to perform the unit diagnostics. The plumber advised us that the problem was a broken flow sensor. He removed the flow sensor and told us that it would be "okay" to operate without it for the week that it would take him to order the new sensor and return to install it. THREE weeks later, he returned and replaced the flow filter. The total cost for labor for both visits (a total of 2 hours and 15 minutes) was $378. The flow filter part was charged at $163.95 for a total of $571.29 which we paid immediately. A few days later, our hot water went out again. Since a diagnostic was part of what we'd paid for on their first visit, we called the company and asked them to come back and right the work they had already been paid for. We told them we did not want to be charged for the visit since we'd just paid them $571 to diagnose and repair the problem. After some discussion (and at our insistence), they agreed that they would return and re-diagnose at no charge to us. Two men (the original plumber and a "supervisor") spent the better part of an hour running gallons and gallons of cold water down the drain (not good for a community under drought water restrictions) before finally referring to the manual which specifies that one of the first "troubleshooting" tasks should be to assess the gas flow at the meter. They finally told us that our problem was that our gas meter was too small and advised us to contact the utility company to have our meter replaced with one that provided greater flow. At that time, both my husband and I confirmed that we would not be charged for the visit and the supervising plumber confirmed that we would not be charged for the second diagnostic. Imagine our surprise when three weeks later, after having been very clear up front that we would NOT pay for the third visit for a diagnostic that should have been properly conducted in the beginning and receiving confirmation that we would NOT be billed, we received a bill for an additional $242 on January 2, 2009. I contacted the company today to tell them that there had been an error in billing us and the manager claimed that he had ever told us that we would not be charged. We are absolutely flabbergasted by the dishonesty of this company. We made every effort to be very clear about our expectations and we relied on their agreement with us that they would make right work that was not originally done properly at no additional charge to us.

THIS WAS MY SECOND INTERACTION WITH LJ KRUSE. THEY WERE PROMPT AND PROFESSIONAL. THE SERVICE PROVIDED CLEARLY EXPLAINED THE MALFULCTIONS OF MY TOILET. GAVE ME SEVERAL OPTIONS FOR REPAIR. DISCUSSED ALL AVAILABLE DISCOUNTS AND LEFT THE FINAL DECISION UP TO ME WITHOUT ANY BUYING PRESSURE. MY FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH L J KRUSE WAS FOR HEATING SERVICES. I CALLED 2 OTHER HEATING/COOLING COMPANIES IN THE AREA. THEY WERE UNFAMILIAR WITH MY HEATING SYSTEM. A FRIEND OF MINE RECOMMENDED CALLING L J KRUSE. THE OFFICE STAFF LISTEN TO MY PROBLEMS AND WERE IMMEDIATELY AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THEY SENT A VERY QUALIFIED SERVICE TECHICIAN WHO REPAIRED THE TROUBLED SYSTEM. WE HAVE HAD NO FURTHER ISSUES. I DO NOT HESTITATE TO CALL THEM WHEN I HAVE A PLUMBNG OR HEATING PROBLEM. THEY LEAVE THE WORK AREA CLEAN AND ARE COURTEOUS. THE BILLING IS ALWAYS WITHIN THE ESTIMATE GIVEN PRIOR TO WORK STARTING. THEY ARE NOT THE CHEAPEST IN THE AREA, BUT THE MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PROFESSIONAL.

Horrible service. We were without hot water due to a broken fan. Company rep said he'd fix it in 24-48 hours. After not promptly returning phone calls, he finally repaired it 6 days later, so we were without hot water for nearly a week. The bill was double what he had originally quoted, and he insisted on immediate payment. His billing sheet showed inflated hours, and full price for the part ($600), which he had earlier said would be under warranty. When we politely asked to speak with the manager about the discrepancy, the tech threatened to remove the part and leave us w/o hot water. The manager promised to refund the cost of the part right away, since it was clearly covered under warranty. (We didn't mention the overcharge on hours; we felt intimidated by the threat to turn off the water.) We didn't get the $600 back until 5 months later, after many promises that the check ''was in the mail.'' An overpriced job that took too long with astoundingly bad and dishonest customer service.
