Metropolitan Van & Storage

Two men showed up on time the day before our move to pack our belongings and prepare everything for the move.  They were very professional and quick.  
The movers the next day were also very polite and professional, to a point.  They showed up mid-day due to a delay in the morning.  By they arrived at our new home, things they were really rushing to get everything done.  Some boxes were placed where they belonged, most boxes were just dumped where the movers thought they should go.  They worked fast and without a care of how boxes were placed and where.   I felt at times they were just trying to get it done as fast as possible because it was getting late in the afternoon.  Our bed was not put together properly and now does not sit right.  A few items broke, but we do not fault the packers.  Believe me when I say the items they packed were packed very well. We also spent a great deal of time rearranging boxes just to find things.
Arranging for and planning the move went very smoothly.  Metropolitan even accommodated a last minute change to the date of the move.  But the actual move itself did not go as well as it could have, which is a shame because we were very impressed with everything else.

Metropolitan was absolutely fabulous.  I have moved  times in the last 25+ years.  I have used professional movers multiple times corporate moves so have a great deal of experience and perspective on quality, efficiency and service when it comes to movers.
Paula  came to do my estimate and was very professional and thorough.  I received my estimate quickly.  Metropolitan is Diamond Certified  - a very exclusive high rating by an independent group that is not easy to receive.  
 
The 3 gentlemen that came the day of the move were FABULOUS - extremely nice, helpful and professional.  They were so efficient - never went back down the stairs without carrying something.  In previous moves, I have had many movers who were not quick and efficient - lots of wasted time.  My furniture was blanketed completely to protect from scratches and things were fabric were well shrink-wrapped.  I had packed everything else myself.  
I was moving my items into storage and there is a minimum of 4 hours payment required.  My estimate was for 6 hours and if it is less, you bill is lowered.  It took us just under 4 hours and my bill was about $250/300 less.  Many movers would have dawdled and not been so quick and efficient and I would have ended up paying more.
In all my moves, Metropolitan and one other company are the only ones I would rate as A+ - there is absolutely nothing they could have done better - A+.   This is hands down one of the best moves I have ever had.  Call them!

Art Murray was our contact and sales person. He came to our house for two hours to estimate the costs and advise on packing, plan the move, with no obligation. Art is professional and enjoyable to work with. He provided many of the materials we needed at no cost.

Two trucks and five guys showed up on time on a Tuesday, loaded everything and went back to their home base. They worked much more quickly and carefully than I expected. On Wednesday, they showed up early at the other end, and once again, they were quicker and more careful than expected. And their final invoice came in at about 75% of the estimate, which was a reasonable price in the first place. The crew of five was the same on both ends, and they seemed like particularly nice and helpful guys. We could not have been happier with Metropolitan's services.

These guys are the real deal. They moved us across the country from Napa to Florida and did an excellent job. Yes - they used their own truck and their own people the whole way. Yes - they came in under the estimated price. Yes - they did not break or lose a thing. Yes - we had the truck driver's phone number and he answered our every call. Yes - they were courteous and on time and careful to protect the house and our belongings. Great job - would use them again without hesitation. BTW, this was a PBO job, not a government move.

They did their best to reduce my costs and there estimates were higher than what we ended up paying because they were able to do the move faster and most importantly they were able to put the furniture into a smaller number of units than what they estimated and the persons that came out was very professional and accommodating. They seemed to know their stuff. We ended up getting rid of some stuff too. The movers were careful and the lead guy was very professional and knew how to make things work. It was a positive experience working with them.

The Metropolitan rep who came out to the house was extremely helpful in facilitating our move. Very knowledgable and had lots of moving tips - things I hadn't even thought of. The packing crew and driver were also very professional and easy to work with. It was the same crew on both ends of the move. I was quoted a price of $11,000, which I put on my VISA card. One month after the move my VISA account was credited about $2300 because my household goods apparently didn't weigh as much as originally estimated. A++++ service!!

They were good. They underestimated the size of the truck so it required them to go and have the rest of the stuff delivered at a later time. Other than that, I found them to be a good reputable company. The drivers were good for both of the trucks. The guys they hired to help them unload were good. The packers were good. They just underestimated the time it would take to pack and the amount of goods that I had. That was their error but they stood by their quote. They delivered and did all the things they said they would do. They were the least expensive. They were good people and I had no issue with their professionalism or ability.

The moving van arrived right on time at around 8:50 in the morning and the entire move was completed by around 1:00 PM. We had hoped to move a sofa into a bedroom but found it could not fit through a doorway. The crew was very cooperative in trying to fit all items where requested but made adjustments as needed. They lowered the estimated price for us since we had fewer items to move than originally viewed in the house when we were quoted a price. For example we had a piano moving company move our piano ahead of our final big move by Metropolitan Van Inc.

They sent an agent who looked through everything and gave me a written bid. They came on time, they were very efficient and they got me moved. I thought that their price was a little high but they were a local company. I always try to use local companies because they are right here in town. If something goes wrong or if there is something that I need then they were very professional, they came back right away took care of it. As far as I was concerned the price was alright as I got what I wanted.

Excellent job, fully completed. We couldn't be happier. DO hire them!!
