I trusted this reality firm and was completely duped. The house I purchased was presented to me as in near perfect shape. They provided me with my home inspection report which turned out to be completely fraudulent. The inspector they got for me did not have a license and he turned in a false report. He sited two small areas of dry rot ($330 of repair work) and reported the house had no termites. I bought the house based on the great reports. Three months later not only was I told by a pest expert that the house had termites, but also extensive dry rot damage to the tune of $30,000 (which could end up being even higher). The owner, Betty Kennon accepts no responsibility even though her firm provided me with this inspector. The damage is highly visible and both the buying and selling agents had a responsibility to disclose this information (it's called a 'tuxedo inspection' which means they don't have to crawl underneath the house but are bound to point out flaws) but they had their eyes focused on the sale and my feeling is that they deliberately deceived me. Now I know what dry rot and termite damage looks like and can see many areas in a walk around the house. The state has prosecuted the inspector and I will be taking Kennon Reality to court. In this time of short sales, people need to be aware of unscrupulous realty firms that take advantage of the confusion and time crunch so that they can make a sale.
