I might not have asked Phil Anderson Roofing to bid on my residential project -- I already had a great bid from a very impressive contractor -- but I remembered that Phil had graciously stepped up to help with my son's Eagle Scout project a few years ago. For the Eagle project, Phil and his crew obtained outstanding pricing on materials and donated their labor to replace a rotting roof on the grandstands of Fitzgerald Field, a fabulous old Benicia ballpark used by hundreds of kids from all over the area. They did a great job on the ballfield, so I thought I owed them a shot at bidding on my home project. There was nothing exceptional about the bid, but I was able to see numerous examples of his work just around the corner from my house. The great references, along with the prior charity project, earned Phil Anderson Roofing the job. And Hiring Phil was the right choice. His work was outstanding. He was a joy to work with and was very helpful throughout the whole process. After the job was completed, I noticed some minor damage in a hard-to-see spot. Phil came back and took care of the issue without hesitation or complaint. Tip: If you hire Phil to do your roof, make sure to schedule some time at the job site while the crew's working. You'll be amazed at how hard they work, and you'll especially enjoy getting to know Phil.
