Mayfair Garage

I have used Mayfair Garage once or twice in the distant past and was reminded again with my recent repair how good and trustworthy they are.  The owner, Jeff, is a down to earth fellow and listens and communicates very well.  I am a handy shade tree mechanic myself and knew in advance the issues with my rear brakes but didn't have time to do the work.  Jeff called after correctly diagnosing the problem and even knew I had put on the cheaper Chinese parts which ultimately didn't last or perform well (yes, you get what you pay for) .  He suggested that I buy the stock GM parts (thus the high repair cost), and the repair was completed.  He did a thorough test drive at the end to make sure the brakes worked properly, and they are now better than ever.  With my favorable experience, I will very likely contact Mayfair Garage again for the next repair.

I have used them several times and they have always done a wonderful job. They are very professional and really nice people. The price was very competitive.

Work was done in a timely manner and seems to be ok since the work was completed.

Jeff sends a well-written and entertaining monthly newsletter to his customers (after their first visit)...which happily includes service specials!)   Took advantage of this when our Corolla's front CV joints began a-clunking.   At the time, was also nearly due for timing belt replacement.  Jeff worked with me to add VALUE to the timing belt job...replacing the 1992 water pump concurrently would save on labor cost for that iINEVITABLE repair (i.e., same parts would have to be removed in course of accessing either component).   Similarly, flushing and filling the cooling system, and replacing its thermostat, dovetailed nicely with the water pump replacement...again, because of the access afforded by removal of adjacent parts AND because this would maximize life of the new pump.   We're two years "down the road" and all is well with this vehicle!

Does Angie's List have a rating higher than an 'A'? If so, that is what Mayfair Garage should get. I have been going to Jeff for the last several years. He is prompt, honest and does good work. Does not sell you something you don't need and will talk you out of having service done that is not necessary. Jeff and Mayfair are in it for the long-haul: to build strong customer relations and not to just make a quick buck.

They are very professional. They are very nice people, and very honest. They have great prices, and are conservative in the services they provide, they won't fix things that don't need fixed.

They've been quite satisfactory. They're very punctual with their work and they did the job right as far as I can tell. They did a very good job.

They have an excellent knowledge of the job. I think they are one of the most honest mechanics that I have ever encontered and do excellent work as well. I'll continue to take my cars here in the future.
