I can't believe I have to write this review. Several months ago I had a water softener installed at my house. I asked the installers to make sure that the softener ONLY softened the water in my house, and not the irrigation lines, since the sodium in the water would kill my plants. "Don't worry," they said, "the hose bibbs on the house will have softened water but the irrigation lines will be unaffected." I stupidly did not verify this, but to be fair I expected them to do their job properly. I found out just this last week that the softener IS softening the water that goes to my plants. Some of my plants are dead, others are dying, and I had to spend two hours scooping out the sodium chloride in my softener to replace it with potassium chloride. I don't understand how you can mess this up when it's specifically requested.
