Royal Roofing Company

On Friday January 10, 2020, I discovered that the flat roof section of my rental had been blown over and folded in half by the heavy winds of the night before. I started calling people that had had recent roof jobs and asked for contact information for the roofers. None of the roofers that I contacted called me back that day so I decided on Saturday morning to look for a roofer on Angie’s List. My search for roofers revealed a number of companies in the area, but the one that caught my eye was Royal Roofing in Bell Gardens. The reason they caught my eye was because they have been in business since 1980 and have great customer reviews. Through Angie’s List, I decided to contact Royal Roofing. An answering service took my message and within minutes I received a call from Steve Pinkus, president of Royal roofing. Steve took the time to address my concerns and stated that he would do everything possible to help me get the problem resolved before expected rains on Thursday, January 16. Steve was able to get Johnny Bravo, one of their service representatives to come out and inspect my roof that same morning. On the spot Johnny, conducted a video call with Steve and they came up with the best solution to resolve a problem that had not been addressed by the previous roofer. On that same Saturday, within an hour I had a reasonable estimate which included a discount for using Angie’s List. After discussing the estimate with my wife, we decided to go ahead and get the job done. Steve had a crew at my rental property first thing Tuesday morning and by Thursday at noon, the job had been completed. The work looks amazing, the workers were professional and clean. Steve kept me updated with photos, calls and text messages every step of the way. Steve, Laura (in the office) and Stephanie Pinkus, the owner, were all so pleasant and brought a family feel to the whole ordeal. The customer service and responsiveness I received from Royal Roofing is very difficult to find nowadays. I will definitely be referring Royal Roofing to friends, family and coworkers. Thank you Steve, Stephanie, Johnny, Laura, Guillermo and the rest of the crew.

Great! The company came to our HOA's rescue when we needed a roofing company to help us with a very time sensitive situation. We recently learned that our hot water boiler, which sits on the building's roof, was about to crack and flood the roof if we didn't have it replaced within 48 hours. While we already had the boiler company lined up, we also needed a roofing company to accommodate us (and coordinate with the boiler company) to be there to repair and support the roof after the boiler company took out the old equipment and pad and before they were to install the new equipment. Royal listened and understood our need and timing and was there when we needed them the most. They were courteous, professional and very knowledgeable. Even the boiler company told me how easy the were to work with. The job went off without a hitch. We have also hired Royal to repair and resurface our entire roof in the next few weeks. As President of the HOA, I could not be more pleased with how they were they exactly when we needed them. I would not hesitate to recommend Royal Roofing to anyone!

Overall great experience with Royal Roofing and their team. The president and CEO, Steve, gave me a very personalized and in-depth knowledge of roofing during the initial estimation. He made sure to take his time and thoroughly explain to me each particular issue he saw with my roof and broke down how he arrived at his estimation. Steve walked me through the process and kept me in the loop with daily status updates and pictures of the progress. I felt very comfortable throughout the process and had incredible results. Beautiful roof done in just under a week. They also made sure to clean up and power wash away debris both at the beginning and end of installation. I purchased the 25 year GAF “Golden Pledge” extended manufacturer warranty (Any and all leaks taken care of free of charge for 25 years, transferrable to next owner so a great selling point.) Royal Roofing is of an elite certification (top 2% of roofers) called “Master Elite” which are allowed to implement this warranty. You could truly see the difference and craftsmanship through the extra features that come with this option. I was extremely happy with the work done, and the process was quick and painless. I searched for a roofing contractor for over a year and it was well worth the wait and the due diligence.  Royal Roofing did a FANTASTIC job on a COMPLETE reroof of the flat-roof part of my house.  The two words that can sum up the work are ?quality?
and ?teamwork.? 
I can?t say enough about how great it was to work with Steve and the foreman Santiago.  They both cared very much about the quality of their work and communicated with me at every step of the way.  I really appreciated their full disclosure and felt I could really trust them to keep me informed.
The Royal Roofing team also had to work with 6 other subcontractors I had coming in and out on a variety of other jobs.  I was
very impressed with how the Royal Roofing crew were continually willing to talk to the other subs and make sure that everyone was able to do their portions effectively.  For me this was a critical part of the remodel and not to be underrated!  I saw great teamwork happening the entire week.
Since the roof was completed we?ve also had a few days of rain.  The water sheeted off nicely into the new rain gutters.  I can now live without fear of a new leak forming with every rain.  The roof is solidly built and even other contractors have commented on how good it looks and is clearly high quality construction.  The house and the garage are also much cooler!
The Royal Roofing team paid attention to every detail and did the job right!  I will definitely be looking forward to working with them again to reroof the other half of my house that has a pitched roof.  I know the quality will be superb and I don?t have to fear contractor problems.
P.S.  I don?t understand some of the reviews below from people who didn?t even get work done. In my experience all roofing
companies have busy times when they just can?t get to everyone.  I spent over a year searching for good reason!  Patience, politeness and persistence will get you quality, not complaining.  There are two sides to every story!

Royal Roofing replaced the roof in our 4 unit building back in March, 2015. We spent $30,000.00 and only ended up with a roof worse off and an enormous headache. Two weeks ago it rained heavily though the night and I was woken up by the alarming sound of a steady stream of water hitting the wood floor in my bedroom. The ceiling had been transformed into a huge bubble of rain water and you can only imagine the layers of insolation and wood the water had to soak through before reaching my room. In other words, it was a bad leak. I didn?t immediately assume it was a leak caused by Royal?s negligence so I went through the proper steps with Royal to find out where the source of the leak was coming from. We ended up doing an hour long water test with a hose on the top of my building and discovered a gaping hole in the acrylic material used by Royal to water proof and seal off the top of the building. We directed the hoses stream of water to several parts of the roof and concluded together that this was the only spot where we found a steady stream of water making it?s way to my bedroom again . The owner of the company, Steve, arrived on scene after the test was done and immediately started to deny responsibility for the hole left in the roof that lead to my incredible headache of a situation. A one point he even started comparing himself to OJ Simpson saying that he?s not necessarily responsible for anything...which I found to be an odd and frustrating analogy. My bedroom resulted in the ceiling needing to be ripped out and re done to fix the water damage. We still aren?t able live at home and it's a disaster. I would not hire this company- I do not believe them to be honest or trustworthy.

It went very well. Workers were prompt, hardworking, polite and helpful.

All went fine untik the roof came off. The the problems hit. An extra $6,000 for wood and sheeting. Granted the roof was 60 years old so I was expecting problems. Great service, took pictures every step of the way to document work, even financed the extra $6K over 30 days with no interest. Reggie was great, he is hearing impaired so talk loud on the phone. Overall great service.

They were responsive and worked with me in getting the best value. It's been about two years and the house is dry. I have been up on the roof several times (to spray off the dirt on the panels) and I am pleased with the workmanship.

They are really good; they are very neat and professional, and competitively priced. They gave me a written estimate and they had the job done in two days. They also cleaned up nicely when they were done. I went with a ten year warranty on the work that was done, though I was given other options as well, which I appreciated.

I did get a lower bid but I just felt that I would pick them because they were a bigger company. I would definitely recommend their services to someone else who needs roof work done.

There's a guy who is like the point man. He comes out, looks at the roof, takes pictures, figures out exactly what it is,, and gives you the estimate. He's very highly skilled, and very personable.

I was called back immediately by one of the owners of the company, when I requested an estimate. An owner and an associate showed up before the appointed time to check out the roof and get a picture of the situation- an old and leaking roof. They accurately assessed the problems,and the owner proposed several alternatives.
My co-owners decided on using Royal Roofing because of their reputation, fair price, and especially because they have a physical brick and mortar operation with a long existing team of employees.
They did a great job, and solved problems, like unexpected bad weather, and unanticipated problems on the edge of the building structure. They also fixed several things that were not part of the initial contract without added charges.
This is an and quot;old schooland quot; company, determined to do a great job for a fair price and maintain it's reputation as a company that puts a priority on service.

The entire job was done professionally and I was very satisfied with the result. The cleanup was well done also with no debris left. I will use them again.

Alex was very thorough about what kind of work they were going to do and what material was going to be used.. The workers were on time and were very organized and always left everything in its place and when they were all done they cleaned everything up and left it looking good. They did a great job and I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs work done on their roof.

They did a major job in another property for me. It's a mini complex and they did an excellent job. I've had problems with one of these buildings before with a lot of leaks and I was looking for a job that would stop that through for a long period of time so I was willing to pay extra money till I get a roof laid that had a long warranty too. They provided that and the work was done. They were amongst the few people who put on 5 year old roofs. I had two of the buildings done in 2004 and two more done in 2005. They did good work for me and the roof did hold up well. They were careful in their work and they were punctual. I mainly liked the quality of their work and their willingness to give long warranties. They worked with some difficult challenges as the roofs had air conditioning and they had to work around. The quality of the work and the workmanship stands out to me. The price was good because I was trying to get bids for this work and they were all expensive for the type of work I was asking for.

I had a very positive experience. Reggie is a seasoned professional who does what he says he will do. The work was timely, well priced, detailed, and very clean each and every day. If you get Jose as your crew boss then you have no worries. It's nice to see such pride of workmanship

I have recommended them. They were excellent. I haven’t had any other interactions with them after their last visit to my house because I haven’t had any problems. I have only good things to say about them. They were on time and neat. They delivered the estimate as they said they would. I was very pleased after having lot of problems in the past, but I have no more problems now. I would ask people to use their services since they are the best. They were expensive, but they were good. If need be, then I would use their services again.

They were efficient and thorough, showed up on time and called if they were late. They were able to work with me in the bidding process.

I couldn't ask for more from these guys. They provided an excellent service. They were very neat at their work too. I can't say I have complaints about this company. After calling other roofing companies these guys gave me the best price and their quality of work is excellent.
