Because our very old garage door wasn't waterproof or sound proof, we felt it was time for a new door at last. We reviewed several garage door company websites and phoned two of them. We liked the information on All Star Garage Door's website and got a good feeling from our phone call. They sent Mike C. to our house and he was very informative and professional, without applying any pressure. He returned a second time to meet with my wife to answer her questions. We liked their Northwest insulated steel doors appearance and quality. He recommended a door style that he thought would look best for our house. Mike also followed up by sending email pictures of the same door, so we could make our final decision. They helped us schedule installation at a convenient time and they showed up and did a very professional installation as promised. We love the look and operation of the door. It really transformed the look of our house. We slept through much of the heavy rain a few nights ago and were happy to wake up and find the new door had kept the water from leaking in at the bottom. We are happy customers all the way around and happy to recommend this company.

It went fine. I had a couple issues with the door being noisey a few weeks later. I called them and they came a few times and were able to fix the issue. They were going to call me back to see how things were going but they haven't called back yet.

Garage door opener stopped working yesterday. I called them in the morning and they indicated they were able to come out to repair it in the afternoon. Albert came out, he was very good and knowledgeable. He knew what was wrong right away and indicated what it would cost to fix the issues (it was higher than what my conversation with the person on the phone was in the morning). The spring adjustment seemed reasonable to me, but the gear kit replacement seemed very high, but I went with it since he seemed very knowledgable and the door wasnt working and I really didnt want to waste any time calling more people. The repair went well and Albert fixed door very fast, he even adjusted it so that the door is now quieter than it was before. I would definitely call them again but would probably research the prices of their services a bit more before doing so. After the job, I did find the gear kit parts online for about $30 which kind of disappionted me since they charged me $125 for just the parts, but hey, the unit is working and they did a great job and were there the same day.

Excellent work by Derek Soderstrom. I called early in the AM & luckily he was in the neighborhood so he came over after his other 2 appointments. It required a reattachment of a loose panel holding the track above the swing out garage door. Instead Derek replaced it with a metal strip which has holes to attach to the trac from the motor. Apparently that's what should have been installed in the first place by the original company 25 years ago. Who knew? Excellent job and will definitely consider using the company' in the future when I upgrade.

I initially spoke to Steven, one of the owners in the morning (Saturday) because our garage door cable broke. He assumed (correctly) that we wanted to have it repaired right away. He explained he had two men out and one would call me between two and three prior to arriving. I received a call from Derek at 2:45. He said he was on his way and would arrive in 30 minutes (which he did). He was smiling when he introduced himself and I got the sense he knew what he was doing. He looked at the broken cable, explained the problem and gave me two options. I chose to have the unit replaced, since it was 17 plus years old. He got to work and finished except the wall console did not give us the option of a vacation hold. He said he would be able to give me one with that option and began to replace it. Prior to finishing he asked to speak to me and explained the unit was not suitable for the type of console we wanted. He gave me an option of putting in another unit, just replacing the cable in the unit we had or using the one he had installed with the type of console we did not want. I chose another unit (LiftMaster) , which meant he had to replace the one he had installed. I apologized and he said, "it's my fault for not explaining it better." He installed it quickly. I asked if we could tip him. He said, "oh no." He also said he loves his job and his employers are very good to him. What a wonderful experience, dealing with such a professional. He took his time. Did a great job and we are very happy with our new, quieter garage door, three remotes and vacation hold console, which thanks to Derek's patience and professionalism we know how to operate!

I originally called because my springs broke but decided on my own to replace my 30-year-old opener. Rob showed up on time both to fix the springs and later to install the new opener. He was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend them.

Jay was right on time and was able to fix my old opener and basically talked me out of buying a new one. Our 12 year old door openers metal panels were separating from the machine and our huge 400lb single panel wood door would wobble around and wouldn't close. Jay reassembled and readjusted it and it's just like new. Better than new! We also got two new remote door openers which he programed for us. All in all he probably saved me $500. We're so happy we're thinking of building another garage.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. Both jobs were done very satisfactorily. It was a little pricey. I think I would use them again in the future.

I was not happy with the person they sent out. The person they sent was not careful with my things and he beat up the sides of the walls of my garage. I had a finished looking garage and when he left, it was filthy dirty from his work.

At fist I was told that my garage door was "obsolete"and that I could save money if I bought a new a new one from the provider. However, after deciding that I did not want a new door at this time, Kevin stated that with the deal I bought, he could tighten and adjust things.

It very well. Jay and his crew worked very quickly and paid attention to details. They took out the old door and spring system. To make a more snug fit for the door, they added wood trim on both sides and installed all of the garage parts. They cleaned the area very well. Once they were finished, Jay showed me how to lock the door located inside the garage. The friendly and professional team worked swiftly and efficiently.

As we had been without a working garage opener for a few weeks, this wasn't an emergency. I called on Thursday and was given a window of time between noon and 2:00 on Saturday. The installer came within a few minutes of noon and was done by about 2:00. I am so happy with the quality of the opener, especially the quiet operation! The installer was polite, worked quickly, let me know how the previous opener was incorrectly attached to the door, moved the mount to the appropriate place, and then showed me how it worked before leaving.

The scheduling was painless. The individuals showed up to replace the door a bit early, but said they would wait until I was able to meet them at my home. (I was on the way.) This was very professional, I believe--I'd rather have early than late. The existing garage door was disassembled, as was the rail. They hauled it away. The new door and rails were installed, and connected to the existing garage door opener.
The replacement door was a very good quality, though I had arranged to have a higher quality door when I scheduled the installation. The higher quality door did bring up the price tag, but I feel it was worth it. When speaking with the representative during the scheduling, I did talk a bit about aesthetics. My strong area is not in aesthetics, so his advice was helpful. (I went with bigger windows on the the top section of the door.)
When they were finished installing the door, I paid the balance between the Angie's List deal, and the total amount for the installation. This is where the transaction soured a bit. Apparently, the quotation provided to me on the phone was erroneous. I presumed that the total quotation given was a complete total, from which the Angie's List discount would be applied at time of payment. So, I wrote a check for that amount. Instead, the scheduler insisted that the total was including the discount.
There were a few phone calls to straighten this out, but ultimately it was resolved satisfactorily by splitting the difference.

All Star Garage Door did a fantastic job... I honestly didn't think our door was repairable due to the extent of the damage. But the tech (Jay) got it fixed in about half an hour, and it looks and works great! Am very happy with their service. Cost was well below what I was expecting to spend. Tech arrived on time and left area nice and clean. Am definitely going to use them again in the future. Thanks!
