Rankin Electric

We were very pleased with Rankin Electric's installation of service to our outdoor hot tub, along with some additional smaller repairs. Crew members were professional, upbeat, and on time.  They also were clearly well respected by other contractors who worked on this project.

He was on time, completed the job as promised and charged as agreed.

He was professional and quick.  We will definitely use them again.

I went on their website and put a note for them that I thought they were great. He was so nice and friendly. I joined Angies list so that I find an honest electrician and I couldn’t have been more happy with the one I got.

We had only partial electricity in our kitchen when we got up yesterday morning, and we also needed to get our garbage disposal switch replaced.  I called Rankin due to their good reviews on Angie's List. We absolutely cannot be happier. "Joe" was prompt, very friendly, and helpfully explained exactly what had caused our problem. I got out my credit card, and was truthfully prepared to pay much more, but they only charged us $65 dollars! I will definitely use them again if needed.

The best. The owner promptly returned my initial call and scheduled the work the same day. The tech was punctual, friendly, knowledgeable, professional and friendly. He found the problem quickly and repaired the wiring. And their prices were fair and affordable. I will continue to only use Rankin.

 I have a rental in Bakersfield, and the front porch recess light was out. I called Randy Rankin, told him that I lived about 100 miles away. It was not a problem for him and his crew, they handled rental properties all the time. He contacted our tenants, set up an appointment, and was able to complete the job exeditiously, so as to keep our cost down. Randy was polite, and very business like. He called, and let me know what the problem was, and how much it cost. Would not hesitate to use him again.

They came right out. They were pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable. I had barely even finished telling them what the problem was but he understood it and fixed it.

I was very happy with the service I got. I would have them again immediately if I had a problem. They were quick, good and informative. I was very pleased with their service. The quality of the work was fine. I have a house warranty service, so I did not pay the whole bill. It suited my needs at that time, which was fine. I do not know how their price is as compared to how a house owner would feel about the price if he were calling from a house that he had lived in a long time. Their responsiveness and punctuality were really good.

They came and read the Geek squad recommendations on where the 110 volt outlet needed to be placed. Confirmed with them that the cable set up was being taken care of and was prepared to also do that in the event they were not able to. The service was very professional, courteous, and quick. I had called them day before and they were able to come the next day. Very pleased with the overall service and would use them again.

They did a real good job.  They came on time and did their work. They were very quick and to the point.  I was really pleased with them.  They said they would come back if there were any other problems but I haven’t had any problems.  They had some parts in their truck that I didn't have so they just gave it to me at the normal price and didn't try to make money on it.  If it was a $10 switch, they charged $10 for it.  The quality of their work was very good.  They just got in, got the job done, and got out.  They are a big company with a lot of people.  I had no problems with them at all.  I would certainly choose them if I decide to have another chandelier hung. They were very professional and very polite.

Everything went great!  The house is 55 years old with mostly original wiring and I was very worried that something would go wrong.  Not that the provider would do anything wrong but that they would open the box and find some huge problem that would require repair in addition to the task at hand.  One reason I chose Rankin was because of their flat rate for service, as well as their great reviews.  Most companies charge roughly 85/hr plus parts.  There was probably $500 in parts plus permits for this job and they were able to complete the job in 6 hours.  If I had gone the hourly route the job would have been roughly $1100.  However if you own a home you know full well that this would have been a gamble, it would have paid off this time but I'd rather take a sure thing than take a chance on a 55 year old home that's full of surprises, and not the good kind!!!

When I called in the call was answered by Mr. Rankin himself, nice touch!  Rather than just schedule a service appointment I was able to talk to an actual electrician about what they job entailed and had all my questions answered very well.  I was really just price shopping but after talking to him for a while I decided to take the plunge.  One thing worth noting is that they are very friendly and will work with you.  Due to my job I was not able to be home when they did the initial inspection for the estimate or when they did the actual work.  Everything was handled by phone.  They were by far the easiest contractors I have ever worked with.  There wasn't even a contract.  Mr. Rankin said $1800 and was honest and upfront that he would most likely make a good profit but that if things got tricky he would eat the additional cost.  For example if PG&E was delayed for the final hookup or if the city inspector was late or had to reschedule and his guy had to wait around for several hours doing nothing if would not be my problem.  Or if they had to repair the interior wiring to bring the project up to code they would also handle it.  He said it could also be done hourly with itemized billing but I opted for the flat fee.  What  can I say I don't like home repair surprises.  When I returned home from work on the 16th everything was done.  I didn't have to get involved in anything really.  All the permits and coordination of PG&E and the city inspector were handled by Mr Rankin.  And the whole project was completed on time and with no real difficulty.  I would use them again anytime!

It went great.  Randy came to the house back in early July.  My wife and I went on vacation, so we contacted Randy to re-schedule.  That was no problem and Randy re-scheduled.   Before the work could be started,I had an emergency taking me out of State for 3 weeks. Randy again re-scheduled.  Finaly I was able to give Randy the go ahead to put us on the schedule.  The crew showed up right on time and went to work.  It was a one and a half day job and went very smoothly.  We are very pleased with the work and with the crew that Randy sent out.

Rick arrived on time and was very friendly and professional. He was able to determine the problem with the kitchen wiring quickly and fixed it with no problems. The additional items required a trip to the nearby Home Depot which he did in no time. I was very happy with the work Rick did and what a pleasant fellow he was. The hourly rate for labor was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Rankin Electric and plan to have them do additional work in the future.

Randy Rankin personally answered the service call and did all the scheduling. On the appointment day his associate arrived on-time, was dressed professionally, listened to my concersn, wants and needs, and immediately began working. He was very friendly and answered all of my questions. The entire cost of the job was very reasonable based on what I wanted them to do and the difficulties in accessing the small attic.I WILL be using them for ALL of my electrical needs as long as they continue to provide their exceptional and professional customer service.

Rick arrived early and was very professional. He knew right where to start trouble shooting and found the problem quickly. He was excellent!! Because of his level of experience, he didn't waste time and solved the multiple problems I had in my house very efficiently. I was relieved to find a company that charged fairly and did such great work.

I called Rankin on Monday and they sent Rick out on Tuesday to do the work. He took a quick look at what we wanted done and he just went at it. Even with having to go get some supplies he was done in the morning and everything looks great and the lights on the garage are a really help when driving up at night.

I recieved a estimate of the cost of work in a timely manner. Intially discussed the replacement of the homes original breaker box (based on home inspection), but it was suggested I wait untill I actually have an issue. He even indicated he may be able to track down replace breakers (the breakers for my house are no longer available new) to get me by if I wanted to put off replacing the box. The guy who worked on my house were very carefull not to damage any of the existing architecture. If additional work was required due to unforseen conditions (older house) I recieved a phone call with an estimate for the additional work before they proceded (no suprises on the bill). I was happy at all steps of the proccess. I would highly recommend recommend Rankin Electric and would not consider using any other electrician.
