I attempted to perform a DIY; trying to remove the cartridge, that would not budge, I broke the plastic flange. I wanted to match it at Home Depot but could not get it out. I researched the plumber list on Angie's at 1 PM Friday and called the Benjamin Franklin franchise and talked to the owner, Mike. He told me that he was on call and had given the other guys the time off on Memorial Day weekend to be with their families. He said he could be out by the next day between 12 & 2PM.
He called on Saturday at 11 AM and said he could be at the house right then, I told him I was in the middle of an errand and asked if we could meet at 11:30 & he agreed. Mike arrived at 11:30 and went to work. He had the part in his truck. There were a few simple issues with the cartridge alignment and being overlubed out of the box. Mike was up to the task & completed the work patiently & with purpose.
Price included a 15% Angie's list coupon discount, but was up graded to a deduction of the service/travel charge of $49 for total charge of $138 covering the repair fee.

The work was neatly done, as it required that he dig around the pipe to gain full access, he put everything back where it was originally and was very thorough in measuring the water pressure afterwards at all points in the house.
We are very happy with the results and would use Benjamin Franklin again in a heart beat. The quality of the work and the person doing the work was totally top notch.
The only con is the price. I used the coupon and it was applied before the $49 travel fee. This fee is exorbitant. I think this should be told to you on the phone when you make the request for service. I had told the phone person I wasn't in a hurry and this was a weekday (not an emergency weekend job). This was not EVER mentioned until I was handed the service contract to sign...by then, you're stuck.
I might refer this company but would definitely mention the price.
