Stanley Steemer - Azusa

It was fine.

Two carpet cleaners showed up on a Tuesday and told us that the price was going to be $325 for cleaning and protecting our carpet. I argued with the cleaner that we were quoted a different price by his office ($238), but decided to get the cleaning done anyway. The two cleaners proceeded to clean and apply protectant to our carpet. The next day, after the carpet was dry, we found two orange carpet stains that were not there before the first cleaning. We called Stanley Steemer and told them of the problem, and they sent two guys out the following day (Thursday) to try to remove the stains for no charge. They removed one of the stains, but the other stain did not come out. One of the Stanley Steemer guys said that they could use dye to remove the stain, but we declined because we didn't want to risk making the problem worse, given it was a pretty new carpet. The Stanley Steemer cleaner then told me that he would notify his General Manager of the problem, and that the General Manager would call me. He also left the name and number of the General Manager. I didn't hear back from the General Manager on Thursday, so I called him on Friday, but was told he was at lunch, so I left him a voicemail stating that there were problems with the carpet cleaning, and left my name and number requesting him to call me back. The General Manager did not return my call on Friday, so I called him again on Monday morning; I was told (again) that he had just stepped out to lunch. After 4 days with no contact from the General Manager, it seemed clear that he was avoiding me. I consider this to be unprofessional behavior, and coupled with the incorrect carpet estimate and two stains on my carpet, I would never use Stanley Steemer again for carpet cleaning.

It was a nightmare. They sent the rugs back, and one of the wool rugs still had borax sprinkles on it(that I had put on there), and the oriental rug was covered in pet hair. I sent them back, and the borax was still there upon their return. They told me the first time around that two of the rugs had been dipped, but none had. The second time, they told me one had been dipped, but couldn't tell me which rug had been dipped. When asked about the borax, they told me that it was the backing of the rug breaking off. I sent them back again. I had an impossible time attempting to speak to a manager throughout this whole experience. When I finally got in touch with someone, I was told that none of the rugs had ever been dipped, so I went to go get them back. They never cleaned anything.

Fantastic job, carpets looked like new when they were finished, carpets are at least 10 years old.

We were getting the house ready for sale (open house in 7 days), and flying out of state that same day for a week. Stanley Steemer (SS) arrived during the and quot;window time periodand quot; they had scheduled for us. Unfortunately, my wife and I had to leave to catch our plane before SS arrived. We left a check for $160.00, the agreed cost of the carpet cleaning, with our painter to give to SS upon completion of the work. When we followed up long-distance with the painter, we were told and quot;Yes they arrived, did the work, accepted the check and left. But they never touched the stairway!and quot; (14 steps and a landing, which were the dirtiest rug areas.)
Upon our return, we complained to the manager. and quot;We were promised 361 feet of rug cleaning for $160.00. (This was the exact same price we'd paid one year earlier to a Chem-Clean company who had provided the and quot;361 sq.ft. and quot;measurement, which included the stairs) But the stairway was not cleaned. Please come back and finish the job we paid you to doand quot;
His response: and quot;We don't quote by square footage, but rather the approximate size and # of rooms. Stairs are extra. We'd be happy to return and do your stairs, but that will be an extra $62.00.and quot;
When I told him I was a member of Angie's List and would be reporting to everybody exactly what happened, he didn't seem to care and refused to finish the job for us.
Summary:
1)The part of the rug that they worked on looked clean enough.
2) There was a communication problem: their email confirmation didn't mention the stairs, but because we had mentioned to the order taker that stairs were included and the entire job was 361 sq. ft., we assumed they just didn't bother to type in and quot;stairsand quot; on the confirmation.
3) Why didn't the order taker tell us they don't quote jobs by sq. ft.?
4) Why didn't the workers ask our painter if we wanted to include the stairs,where the obviously dirtiest part of the carpeting was? The painter had our phone to ask us. This could've been possible more income for them.
5) Our issue is not with the workers but with the manager, who was quite haughty toward our request to finish what we'd paid for.
Bottom line: he gets a negative write-up from us and resulting bad PR. We wound up hiring Naturally Green Rug Cleaner to do the stairs for us, for $100.00. It's more that SS was going to charge us,. but I wasn't about to give SS one penny more to do the work that they should have done in the 1st place.

Excellent job! Knowledgeable, friendly person. He listened to what I wanted and did it all. He even caught another spot that needed attention and did that without increasing the cost. He wore booties to keep from tracking anything onto the carpet from his shoes. When finished, he gave me a pair too. It dried quickly and stayed clean for months.
He got the wax from the 3-wick candle I knocked over out as well. I will not tell you too much about the red wine stain!

They did a great job! They took care of all the spots we had. They did not up charge us. They arrived on time and everything was done to my satisfaction.

Stanley Steemer did an excellent job. They did a really good job. If I am going to have them cleaned again I would use them. They were prompt, they did a good job, they put things back, and they guy who did the service did a really good job. I had seen the ads and I decided to try them. They did a really good job.

I have used this company for carpet and upholstery cleaning for the past 3 years. They are always courteous and professional. One year after a cleaning I noticed a funny smell in the house so they returned and cleaned carpets again at no charge. I highly recommend this company for carpet and upholstery cleaning.

The experience went great! The knowledge of the fabrics and chemicals they used made them stand out for all of the upholstery cleaning.

We have had this carpet for about 10 years and right now it looks like new. I am very impressed with their professionalism and focus on the job. They moved the furniture and did a fantastic job. I couldn't be more pleased!

Overall, this services offered  (including) were beyond satisfactory.  I will only contact Stanley Steamer in the future.

I had a one hour window when they were supposed to arrive. They called when the window was about over and said that they were going to be 45 minutes late. When they got here the crew was extremely professional. They described exactly what they were going to do. The carpet in some areas was so bad I thought it would be hopeless. They explained that they can't do miracles but that the process would lighten the stains. The results were amazing. We should have had the carpets cleaned years ago. They were able to get all the large stains out. Most of the carpet looks brand new. There were one or two small spots that they couldn't get out. The only downside is that now that most of the carpet looks like new the couple of tears and bulges that we didn't really notice before really stand out now. I strongly recommend Shawn Ortiz at Stanley Steemer!

They came on time and did a good job cleaning the floor. I gave them a C grade simply because when I called I was told I could get a 10 % discount for using my Auto club card. After the guy gave me the quote for the job on site I asked for the discount. He then tells me that he forgot to add a $20 fee to my estimate (I think he said travel fee) which turns out to be about the same about as the discount. So, really weak and I would never call them again just because I now feel that they are unethical.
