I cannot say enough about how pleased we were that we chose to hire Porter Roofing to put a new roof on our home. From the initial contact with Carl at our home until completion, we were completely satisfied. The crew arrived on time and finished in the estimated amount of time. The roofing materials were high quality and the roof appearance is beautiful. The crew was polite and respectful of our property and left everything neat and tidy on the final day. We were extremely impressed with Carl, who, not only bid the job and was our phone contact during the entire process, but was there everyday working and overseeing the work and crew. There was no high-pressure sales. We chose Porter Roofing because of the manner in which Carl sold us Porter Roofing. In the end, we received a high quality roof from a high quality roofing company. I was not completely thrilled with them.  I will not recommend them.  They did part of it but there is still leaking and I was not happy.  They were good on price.  I had them come back because there were some problems.  They thought they did their job but I called them back for the down sprout and they never called me back.  I’m just not happy with their follow up.

They came and fix the work but it seems like that it was done by somebody that's not been doing it for a long time. All of the edges of the roof were uneven so they had to come and fix all the edges. I think the quality is fine. I don't think the roof leaks or anything like that because we had no problems since winter but the appearance of it didn't go professional. They were quick to do the fix and that part of it was fine. I think the sales person that came out heard what I wanted and he answered the questions that I need answers.

Porter roofing is absolutely the best. Dave Porter is extremely knowledgeable, provided much help in selecting the roofing material. Was very cooperative in working around some roof repairs and insulation installation I had to do from outside after the old roof was removed. Helped me go through the calculations to assure the ridge vent was matched to the eave venting area. A few days after all was done he stopped by to chat and make sure everything went as I had hoped. Really top notch.

Everything was done professionally.

Came punctually and the timeline I was given was followed. Three days - tear off, cover, re-roof. There was minor damage to the front of my house (address shingle and stucco) caused by the placement of the bin in the driveway, but I have intended to replace that address shingle anyway. Quality of work seems okay - will have to wait for the next real rain to know for sure.

Owner was professional from start to finish, very responsive, on time, price was competitive, quality seemingly excellent. (what do I know about roofs or their installation??) 3 examples of "beyond average" service: 1) his crew had torn off our old roof, and there was a very slight chance of light showers. They stayed at our house past 8 p.m., working up there in the dark, to make sure our roof was covered and protected in case of rain. 2) the work was done, and we noticed during a late rainstorm that the gutter didn't seem to be draining correctly. They were there the next day to inspect and make the corrections (it turned out they installed the wrong mesh size on one of the GutterGlove screens, and run-off from the upper roof was falling over the lower gutter rather than into the gutter.) Changing the mesh size fixed the problem...and they went around and double checked all the other possible "trouble points" to make sure they had installed the screens correctly. 3) we noticed that the downspout right by our bedroom window was making quite a bit of noise as the rain dripped down on the downspout. The next day after their work, the owner came over to fix it, after going to 5-6 different stores to find the right kind of sponge to fix the problem.

We had a 25-year wood shake roof that was on it's 26th year and ready to go. We had approximately five roofers come to our house for estimates. Dave Porter was one of only two roofers who actually came himself instead of sending a sales representative. The estimates ranged from two that were outrageously high to three that were reasonable. Porter's estimate was not the absolute lowest, but was within the lower group. He answered all our questions professionally and gave us advice on what to look for when interviewing other roofers. His sales tactic was no-pressure with a legitimate interest in doing the job (we didn't feel like he was squeezing us in between other appointments.)

When we decided to hire him, he told us he had had a delay on another project and could start ours that week if we would like. With the rainy season around the corner, we had him start right away.

The job lasted 3 days. The first day the materials were delivered and the old roof was torn off. Porter's crew took care to cover our lawn and plants so they would not be damaged. This also made the clean-up of debris easier. The second and third days were spent installing the new roof. I did need to remind the job site manager (not Porter) about painting the vent stacks to match the roof, but he took care of it with no issues. They did a fantastic job cleaning up. On occasion we still find a staple laying around from the old roof, but I would think it almost impossible to get every single bit of debris. Overall, everything went smoothly and we have not had any issues to date.

They did a bang up job on my roof and I am really thrilled. It took them 3 days to finish the work and there was even a sprinkle of rain and we did not even notice it. They did a terrific job and recommended an energy star roof that is under warranty for 40 years and that is what I went with. It has been a week and we did not unfortunately have any rain in that week, but they were really thorough. I spent about $12,000 on that service and it was well worth every penny. The sales guy that came out measured everything and gave me the bid was very thorough in explaining everything to me. He was very personable and he took the time to explain the difference between the different types of roofs. He was very open and upfront. He was very willing to accommodate the landscaper here and it worked out very well. I would recommend them to others.

The work was fine. We would use them again.

Porter was very professional with his bid. He was the lowest (by $5,000) than four other bidders. He did the work on schedule. He cleaned up everything. There was one problem with a skylight we discovered months later that he is now taking care of.

Easy to reach, estimate was complete and fair, timing was great. They showed up promptly and cleaned up as they went. Dave and his crew were a pleasure to work with. I also had them replace all my gutters with gutter glove and it has worked out well and at a fraction of the cost of "leaf guard" gutters

It went very well, overall. They were the first to respond and get me an estimate, and they were able to come do the work the next day. The work was entirely done only two days after initially contacting them.
