Storage
The storage unit was O.K., except for some rain leaking in, but the service from the person who said she was an employee and the wife of the owner was terrible. The contract required a 10-day notice to vacate and terminate the agreement. My wife had signed the original agreement. When I went to give the 10-day notice I asked if my wife had to sign the notice, or if I could do it. The gentleman working there said it would be fine for me to sign the notice. So, I did. When it came time to vacate the unit, I still had a few things in it, because of all the rain we had had. The same gentleman said that since I had given my notice and was paid up for another 3 weeks, I should just let him know when I had vacated and he would give me a prorated refund. A few days later when I went to empty the unit, a different person was there. She said (almost a month after they had accepted the notice to vacate) that the notice was not valid, because it was not signed by my wife. She insisted that I have my wife sign a new 10-day notice, and that (even though the unit was now empty and clean), I would have to pay for another 10 days. I told her that was not acceptable, because the other employee had accepted the original notice and short extension. She became irate very quickly. I left and emptied my car at home, and returned to try to terminate the arrangement. She was immediately hostile, and told me that she had invalidated my gate code, and that I could not get out. She was totally out of control. I told her I was going to call the police about her detaining me there, when I owned them nothing, and I just wanted to be finished with it. She eventually let me out, but I had to get my wife, who was ill, to go back there the next day to sign the new 10-day notice. We were already paid up beyond the 10 days. This is a bad place to try to do business in a reasonable manner.
