A & E Factory Service

They did a good job.  They have been here four times.  First time, they fixed a leak in the door, and there was a small container, which used to cool down the water before we get it.  It was done very well.  There was another visit from these guys earlier to that.  The defrost cycle would cause water to go to the bottom of the fridge, and then freeze.  They put a register on that to keep the hole open where the water escapes when the defrost cycle is on instead of going to the fridge.  This work was well done too.  Then the last thing was the fridge stopped working one day for a day and half.  They fixed it and it was well done on time.  We had no issues.  The only thing that was not so great was the cleaning.  It was a different guy who came.  He didn't spend a lot of time cleaning the fridge.  Everything that was more important was done right and on time, so no issues at all.  I didn't pay anything because I have an extended warranty from Sear, which I normally don't pay; but in this case, it turned out to be a good move because we had 4 visits on that fridge.  The guy who came was nice and professional.  We got a really good service from him.  The experience was very positive.  He was late; but he called an hour or two before the original meeting.  The sliding door of his van fell off, so he was not on time; but he had a good excuse.

My new dishwasher began leaking soon after installation, and the manufacturer uses A&E as their exclusive repair agency (thus the no cost--all work was under warranty). Not easy to get an appointment at a time I was available; they schedule four-hour window of time for appointment. First repairman made diagnosis but did not have part on truck; planned to order it and return in two weeks. Received cancellation of appointment on prior day with no explanation; upon calling, learned part was back-ordered and they had no idea when it would come. After waiting two more weeks, called A&E and they said they had no way of finding out when it would be sent, so I called the manufacturer and learned it would be sent out in the next two weeks. When A&E finally came out to install the part, repairman said original diagnosis was wrong and fixed the problem in a different way. Dishwasher now works fine.

After they fixed it,?within two weeks the refrigerator was not staying cold again..?A second person came after I called?with the problem and told me that the drain was clogged and all they would have had to do the first time was unclog the drain. When I said that the first guy misdiagnosed the problem, the second guy backpedalled and told me that the fact that I had ice on the bottom of the freezer was proof that I needed the part, because that showed that the freezer was now defrosting.? I told him that I had ice on the bottom of the freezer before the?first repairman ever came, and then he?couldn't come up with a good reason why I needed to spend $265 on the part and labor.?I called and?asked the company about a refund and it took three or four weeks for them to return my call. They refunded the price of the part, but not the price of the labor. It took several more weeks to get the refund.
