I forgot to mention in my previous review that the plumber drained the hot water heater onto the roots of a mature, ornamental pear tree alongside the driveway. I was concerned that the hot water might harm the tree, but he insisted that there would be no problem. Well, the tree dropped all its leaves within a month or two and died. That was confirmed when the tree did not revive this year and we cut it down. Dead, and it was a perfectly healthy and beautiful tree before the hot water.

They are thorough and clean up well. I have used them a lot, but they are more expensive now. My family uses them too, but they are experiencing the same price increase.

He was polite, professional, explained everything he did. We discussed prices for a replacement water heater in the future. He accidentally cracked the plaster on the water heater stand (it's very soft and has been broken by other plumbers). He called in immediately for a repair. A co-worker came out a week later to replaster and paint it. He was polite, on time and very professional.
I will definitely sign a contract for annual maintenance with this company.

They were very professional and very responsive to any questions that I had. They were on time and gave me good feedback. They finished the job on time and they took into account my schedule. They completed all the small details that I checked over and indicated that they would be very willing to come back if I found anything that was a miss.

They were excellent. They were really good. In fact I have recommended them to two other people; they've used them and really liked them. They were very quick and responsive. I had other people out but they found the part and it was quite fast to put it in. They did it at a really good price compared to what I was quoted.

oI signed up for their annual plumbing and water heater inspection
service which included inspection the anode rod in the water heater. I
needed a new anode rod and they installed it. The quality of the work
in not in question. But they charged me over $200 to install a $40
anode rod. What really bothers me is that I already paid for them
(through the annual inspection fee) to remove and replace the rod. I
should only have paid for the new rod. I didn't realize it until a few
days later. I called other plumbers for estimates on replacing an anode
rod and was quoted in the neighborhood of $180. Bottom line, I believe
I was overcharged and was deceptively charged.

I don't know much about plumbing. We had that leak in a pipe. First of all, we had to tell him to turn the water off, because the pipe was still leaking. I didn't want anymore damage done. I thought he would know that. What I didn't care for is he said as a curtesy to me he changed our water pressure. He said it was too high. The next day the water pressure was awful after that, because we were hardly getting any water pressure in our upstairs bathroom. I contacted him and he said he would come back. He never did. We waited a few days to see if the pressure would go back. We are just going to look for another plumber. He was very polite and prompt.

with my help, a quick analysis of the plugged sewer pipe. snaked the drain pipe. had to request that he add an extra 15 feet to take it out to the street where he found more roots. had to request that he snake it a 3rd time. he was cooperative. far too expensive for the work performed.

Had a few bad drains and a toilet issue. Got an estimate right off the bat and they did the work right there and then. A tad pricey, but worth it in time and professionalism.

Identified Water Heater flue pipe as not to code, provided new water heater flue pipe and did not attach to water heater per code, did not provide or install " flue bucket" per code, did not identify seismic strapping as not to code and did not replace seismic strapping to code.
Deficiencies identified by Home Inspector.  Ben Franklin called back to attach flue pipe to water heater and provide flue bucket per code. Work done as requested.  Asked about seismic bracing - told "I've seen lots of water heaters braced that way, it's ok".

Benjamin Franklin Plumbing is fast. The guy was pleasant and nice. He came in and did the work, he recommended a new toilet, as he had been here before. They are very responsive and came right away after I called.

I had an emergency problem with the plumbing under my kitchen sink. I called the company at almost 10pm when it happened. A nice woman answered the phone and made an appointment for me the next day. They came on time the next morning and were done in about 30 minutes. He ended up having to place a new drain catch in the sink as the old one was threaded improperly (due to shotty construction) and was the reason the drain pipe fell apart under the sink in the first place.

They are good because you deal with one contractor for three different services. They tend to be expensive but they are convenient, competent, they stand behind their work, and they don't mind coming out to make adjustments.

I had issues with 2 other plumbers: one didnt work as said and the others just never showed up. I called them after seeing an ad on tv and hearing ad on radio. They were courteous on phone, arrived on time and the gentleman that did the work was very nice and it appears the issues are fixed. This was done at a business.

The roots were cleaned out in a professional manner. This plumber was familiar with my root problem and I was pleased with
his recommendation, video, and manual work that has cleared up my problem. I have been pleased with Ben Franklin as they have come on the weekends, holidays and evenings. They have been pleasant and dependable.

Asked that they unclog the toilet and roto-root the main drain line. They said they cleaned the line, turned out they did not. Same problem one week later same thing. Charged $137 each time and the problem persisted yet they did not do what I asked them to do. They were rude when challenged and stated that if I simply read the invoice I would know that I needed a new toilet. Funny thing, I never received an invoice with that information even when I called and asked for a copy to be sent. This business is also called Mark's Plumbing. I have used Mark's for years and they were great. Must be new owners. I would not recommend this company to anybody.
