Juan quoted me a price of $520 to take-out my old bathtub shower combo, dispose of the old bathtub, and install a new bathtub. The price was for labor only and didn't include the cost of any materials. We agreed that he would install the bathtub and I would hang the substrate and do the tiling myself. I signed a contract with him three weeks prior to the start of the project. Two days prior to the installation date, after I had bought and gathered all the materials, I contacted him to coordinate what time he would be over on the agreed upon installation day. Suddenly in his email states that there was a misunderstanding and that his quote did not include installing the shower valves in my bathtub install. However, I specifically told him I wanted him to do all the plumbing, and that I was just waterproofing, hanging the substrate and tile. He then stated it would be an additional $450 to do this. Needless to say, I decided not to have him do the job. But, I am kind of in a bind.
