The plumber showed up and took my old faucet apart to diagnose the problem,  He would have been able to fix it, but since I really was not happy with my old faucet set, I decided to go with a new one.  They had a faucet set on the truck which was not exactly what I was looking for.  These guys really know their stuff and told me of a store locally  where I could get a super nice quality faucet for a lot less than they usually sell for.   I bought the faucet and they came back to put it in and it is just fantastic.  The $40 diagnostic fee was waived as I had work done and the cost was very reasonable.
I gave perfect marks on all areas for this company as they are top notch in all areas.  The office, the workers' punctuality, level of expertise and the quality of work were above and beyond the norm.  They conducted themselves in a friendly yet totally professional manner that let me feel comfortable and confident in them.   I would definitely call them again if needed and I highly recommend this company.
This review is for the new owners of Mad River Plumbing, I call it Joe's Mad River Plumbing as Joe is the new owner that bought Mad River Plumbing from the old owner.   I am very pleased to have discovered these highly trustworthy decent people that are an asset to our community.  It is a nice family business that is of the highest degree of efficiency and quality.

Had problems getting the exact water heater I desired, but the installation was done to my specifications. 
The plumber, Ed, was a very nice person and discussed and explain the process and answered all questions.  We have an old house and he was able to locate the drains where we wanted them and clean up some of the "handyman" work that had been done in years past.  The inspector required a few minor changes and Ed happily came back and did the required work without complaint or charge.

Had a leak for a long period without knowing it. Suddenly I had a $700 water bill. Turns out it was probalby caused by a large earthquake a year earlier and leak had finally showed up big. They showed up promptly, diagnosed the problem quickly, and fixed it for $200 less than any other estimate I received. All done on the same day.

The technician arrived two hours after my scheduled appointment which I wasn't happy about since I had work to do.  He was courteous and friendly and did a good job.  The price was far more than I was led to believe and I think they should be more open about estimated costs in the future.

Having used Mad River Plumbing satisfactorily many times over the past 15 years, I was surprised to hear that the founder and long-time owner had sold the business a while back.  But there was no cause for concern: Mad River is still a great firm.  I was also a bit concerned at first when they wanted to charge me $40 for an estimate (which required a "house call" in order to get a sense of the existing set-up), but as soon as I demurred, they volunteered to waive it.  
A courteous and competent young man came out within the hour, gave me a competitive bid, and was able to begin work as soon as I accepted.  He was efficient and professional (and, again, extremely courteous) throughout, worked efficiently, kept me posted as to his progress, and cleaned up after himself.  The only other slight surprise was that he needed immediate payment, as Mad River's office apparently is no longer set up to bill customers after the fact.
A note on price:  when I say that the price was "fair," I mean that it was fair, relative to the two bids I received from other local plumbers.  All three bids seemed a bit high to me, given what the research I'd done on the internet (always a dodgy proposition, I know) had led me to expect.  But since they were all within $50 of one another, the only way to spend less money would have been to do the job myself--something I was not prepared to do.  Since Mad River had a good unit (a middle-of-the-road 50-gallon Rheem) in stock and could get me up and running again within a few hours, I was happy to let them do it.

Called and scheduled service....technician came out on time as promised....perform work request.......communicated with me as an offsite landlord...took my credit card....emailed me a receipt....no fuss no muss......am calling them again today for other work on same house.

They are friendly.  They are pretty good and did the work fast.  Their prices are reasonable.  I would use them again in the future if I needed to.

I used them when my husband was in the hospital. I felt them working alone and they still performed excellent work. They were recommended to me by my niece and I recommended their services to my neighbor. My neighbor was happy with them too.  They were honest, professional, and efficient.  Anyone who thinks MAD RIVER PLUMBING INC  below an A -1 rating, they don't know what they are talking about.

Not well, Fixtures were standard slip-joint PVC that have repeatedly failed, coming apart when the diswasher is out-pumping, causing flooding & need to reattach & tighten all slip joints. Apparently the need for dishwasher airventing was determined to be unnecessary.
